If you move the flex sections far from eachother I suspect it would limit the total flexibility provided though, maybe that is the tradeoff made - give it more flexibility since it is going to be bolted to the frame but trade off a little bit of not quite completely ideal bending at the flex section.

you only have so much room with these set ups. if i read what your saying right you think that i bend the flex to fit it how i want before i weld it? a bend comes off that flex to fit around the u brace. i have 6-7 of these kits running with flexes in the same spot and have yet to have a failure. another case of internet engineering at its best.

I just know that keeping a flex pipe in a flexed position will potentially increase wear and make it fail prematurely. It's kinda like wheel bearings with spacers, it can cause failures, but there are no guarantees. |

I doubt he wants anyone calling him all the time, even if they try to be extremely patient and pleasant. It takes time away from their ability to actually get things done. With all the headache and re-dos (failed crank balancing, revisits to the machine shop), it really wouldn't surprise me if they ended up eating a thousand or two on my build in time and other costs and never once have I gotten any negative response from them. It was very unfortunate in the circumstances MPS and I had to go through on this build, but they have done everything they could. I can't ask for much more. |

At work everytime I hear a truck outside the office I look to see if it's a delivery person headed for my door. I've been waiting two weeks for some valves, springs, and retainers. I'm not even close to being done with my build but any wait sucks!
Having said that, I've very interested to see the progress with this build. Good luck! |

Edit: On a completely unrelated note, the journal bearing on this thing is insanely smooth. I know you aren't supposed to spin them dry, but I couldn't help myself and it moves easier than many ball bearings I have felt. |

Got some more pictures. Heads apart to make holes of appropriate size for the center studs then hopefully done in a few days!
Not to be forgotten, fobia just shipped the headers to me too! Christmas time indeed! Last edited by RexFTW; 12-13-2012 at 07:39 PM. |

why only run bigger studs in the middle?I am pretty sure even tho they are all trq'd the same the clamping force on the gskt will probably not be uniform.Just an observation. Also what size are the middle studs and what material?MY bad saw info on studs on 1st post.

On the note about the studs, did you expand the holes on the block yourself? I was thinking about doing it but was curious how much of a PITA it could be. Sucks because my block is together, wish it had already been done.

our local machine shop does the re thread of the larger studs. Benson just does the sleeves and o ringing and the rest of the case work like, bore, hone, deck, mainline hone.
