Smile Help: installing RA roof vent

I bought the oem STI RA roof vent, not the scoop, for my '93 impreza and I'm looking for tips on installing it.

It looks very basic but there is usually some very helpful info from someone with experience.

I'm wondering things like:
where should i measure from for the cuts (top of windshield, gutters, ?)?
how should i start the cuts?
how much smaller should the hole be then the vent cover ?
how should i cut the headliner (have to keep it i'm in street mod)?
any other thoughts or tips?

If anyone has installed one before or knows someone who has and could give me some tips I would appreciate it as there are no directions with it.

thanks,
noah

Best thing to do is find someone with a real RA and take measurements/templates off of that.
