Sorry to revive a dead thread...

For the two wires going to column, can't i just use an ez-tap vs shoving wires into the harness? Was thinking so it doesn't fall out.

2 wires go from relay to relay slot
1 wire goes from relay into the 7.5a fuse
1 wire goes from relay to harness (purple/yellow)
1 wire goes from harness (black- next to purple/yellow) into a ground

Sound right?

This mod will let me run fogs normally, run when stalk is on Fog-ON, and will turn off with car... im.assuming?

Does this allow the fogs to be on when high beams are turned on?

Gonna do it again tomorrow. I had it working last time as a quick test but i never actually turned my car on and tried the features of the car running and DRL, Fog, etc. I'll update tomorrow. I made all the wires last time and still have them.

Did you use taps on the column wires?

Do the fogs stay in with the high beams on?

Did this today, cost me 20 bucks since I did not have the connectors and wires. Though home depot did not have the right wire splices so for now I have a temp solution until I get the correct ones tomorrow but here are some pics.

This is on a 2013

I took off the steel reinforcement bar to gain better access, this picture has it removed you should see it when you take yours off. It just has two 10mm Bolts

This picture also has the Relay Removed and Stalk's Harness Disconnected.

I also completely removed the Dash trim as well which just pulls out and disconnected the wires to the Dimmer switches.

When you Route wires to the purple/yellow and Ground make sure you have enough slack and no wires bind when you adjust the steering wheel through out its full range of motion.

I also found that the second ground was unnecessary as it worked without it, but I wired for it so I am going to use it.

And Yes Highbeams and Fogs work!

I tried doing this today but I am having some problems. I followed the instructions and diagram exactly but now the fog lights or the running lights won't work. I used 18 gauge wire and checked my ground to a few locations, but to no avail. I did put the parking brake down. Also, there seems to be a noise coming from the engine bay, not sure if this is new.

Any help would really be appreciated. Thanks

The noise wouldn't have anything to do with that since it's not changing anything except for the power going to the fogs (and tricking it to work)

You checked your ground and no avail? Please be a tad clearer. Where did you ground yours to?

You used vampire clips on the stalk harness? Did it actually make contact?

Check your fuses to see if you accidentally didn't blow them out. Did you connect each relay pin to the appropriate relay slot?

I eventually got it figured out. The problem was when I connected the vampire clip to the harness the metal did not cut through the insulation.

Done! Works great. As another member has commented before, the fog light indicator on the dash doesn't light up when the fog is used. However, it does light up when the main headlights are used. I did skip connecting the ground wire since it was connecting to a wire that was already a ground on the stalk. It's a good thing the fogs automatically shut off when the key is out.

Anybody have any ideas?

I'm curious as to why no one has not just wired the signal wire from the stalk switch directly to the relay. Instead of removing the relay and externally wiring it up with separate power and ground...Challenge accepted.

Like so.

You could even go as far as picking up the contacts from the dealership and make it look extremely close to stock. You would then need only two wires, a vamp clamp, two OEM contacts, and a fuse tap.
