Default How's the finish on your Rota Royals holding up?

I'm thinking about getting a Royal schemed Rota wheel. I assume the "polished" portion of the rim has a clear coat over it. Does it, or is it bare metal? What I want to know, is if I wash my car once a month (if that often)...with just regular car soap and water (maybe a little Simple Green), will I see the same brilliance from the wheel as the day I bought it? With my current non royal SDRs, this is the case.

Don't use simple green on aluminum.

for more info google hydrogen embrittlement.

That being said, I have a set of full royal sports bronze rotas..and the paint is very thin and easy to chip...the chips show up well because of the darker color of the wheel finish.

Thanks for the info on the Simple Green. Ive used it several times with no visual effect on the paint. I don't have bare aluminum wheels, is the "polished looking" part of Royal wheel actually bare polished metal, or is there a coating on it. Also How does the polished part look...assuming you've had the wheels for a while? How often do you wash them.

Check out Extreme Green.

My royal wheels are bronze in color, so the surface is painted but it has a more polished look to it, the insides of the spokes are more textured.

The surface itself looks fine after about a year of all season driving...its just very easy to chip and scratch. There are no signs of obvious oxidation or other corrosion in the paint, but they are full of nicks from lug wrenches and other stuff. ( I change wheels a lot for auto-x and track duty)
