Default Maf For Jdm Compatibility Question

Hello everyone. I am having some issues with my MAF for my engine swap which is a JDM STI V 98-99.

The one that originally came with the swap was malfunctioning and my tuner pulled it out and replaced the sensor with one he had lying around in their parts bin.. he compared the two and they looked identical.

Now this one is malfunctioning...

I was reading this post here
http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/arc...php/t-414.html

The quote is from the link above

"The part number: 22794AA000 Air Flow Meter sensor only

Thanks to ossie_ostrich for that PN

MAF Sensor Replaced - Pics

Went out and bought just the MAF sensor.. Paid just a little over$45 for it. Gotta love getting the hookup.
"

If I go to a subaru dealership and get this part does anyone know if it would it work in my swap? Or is my MAF malfunctioning so easily because it isn't rated for the high flow demands that my swap is putting it through.

Should work- the UK gray market STi guys have been using it for years . It had better work, as all my replacement MAF's for my v6 swap are that sensor

North Ursalia - I just want to double clarify do you mean this same exact part number "22794AA000 Air Flow Meter sensor only"

What intake setup are you running with your v6 swap?

Not sure why it matters what intake- if you use the factory ECU, you require the MAF sensor, but it is a factory intake (box, 90mm inlet, etc.). The factory MAF part number is 22794AA010 and not available in the USA; the 22794AA000 is a suitable replacement.
