I don't like him as a person.

And I don't know if I know any of his music.

You're missing out. I'm pretty sure most rappers are terrible people anyways.

I get into this debate all the time with my friends. They'll skip Mission: Impossible movies because they don't agree with Tom Cruise and Scientology. I'm like, "... But they're great movies tho..." Or just other stuff like that.

I guess some people can't separate art from the artist. If an artist is a jerk or weirdo, I can handle that and still enjoy their work. If they're a convicted pedophile or rapist, that's a different story to me. See Ian Watkins from lostprophets or other such examples.

Ignorance truly is bliss. What do we REALLY know about Tom Hanks?

I'm somewhat arbitrary. I listen/watch/read/enjoy stuff from other artists/creators/etc that I dislike.

The only reason that comes to mind why I drew the line at Kanye is 'cause I somehow avoided actively & knowingly listening to him for a long time...noticed that I had...and thought, "that's neat, how about I keep it up." and here we are.

Dr. Dre beat Dee Barnes to the point that Eminem, a rapper known for his songs about murdering his wife, called him out. There isn't a lot of moral highground left to claim here.

I don't claim any moral high ground here. Heck, I'm pretty ****ed up person myself

I consume media from all sorts of despicable people. I'm sure there are some incredibly righteous people out there that make music that I don't listen to. Not listening to Kanye doesn't make me good/superior/better/etc, it just makes me a person that doesn't listen to Kanye.

Am I proud of that fact? Yeah! It's a hell of a feat to avoid this super popular dude while still consuming media from his peers.

Dang. You're like my other friends who both never got around to watching Star Wars or Austin Powers, even though I know they'd enjoy them, but are just like, "Eh, now I'm proud to not have seen them." It's like, why? Elitist? Self-induced loneliness? Masochistic lifestyle? I don't have the answers to these questions.

One thing I do believe is that, given a long enough timeline, you can find at least one song from an artist that you can enjoy.

To challenge myself, generate incredulity from others, self-loathing, mixed emotions regarding pleasure, opportunity for a degree of attention whoring, I don't like the dude, etc. Hail darkness.

Not a fan of the guy, personally, like at all. But he does have some good toe tapping tunes that I enjoy.

You can all die peacefully now, knowing that.

I guess I'm the Kanye defender now. The problem here is I 100% believe if he wanted to start a cult he could get a ton of people to join.
Case in point his sneakers/clothes.... Good quality stuff for sneakers, but insanely overpriced for resale value. Even his nike yeezy's sell for well over 4k. His clothes are trash looking, besides his jeans. But year in year out that stuff sells within minutes.

Kanye is an awesome musician, and has changed the face of fashion and music as we know it, whether you like it or not. Doesn't mean you can't hate him as a person though.

I don't necessarily hate him, but I think many things he says or does gets taken wildly out of context. The media just makes it extremely easy for people to hate him. (kinda like trump) I also think he may be bi-polar which could cause some of his actions to look worse than they are.

I meant it more as a general statement about rap/rappers as a whole. Some of the greatest rappers are just awful people.

I certainly hate a few for pretty pointless reasons myself. Tyler, The Creator and his stupid Grinch movie and clothing line while his fans whine about him being overlooked/underrated bothered me for no good reason. Nas dropping anti-vaxx lines on his newest album also irritated me. I'm not sure what it says about me that I was more bothered by that than the fact he probably beat the **** out of Kelis.

I know I'm not going to change your mind, but I still think you're missing out on some good music.

The album that was supposed to come out in 2018 got leaked recently.

It's apparently now canceled and instead a new album called Jesus is King is coming.

https://twitter.com/KimKardashian/status/1167154538643513344

The leaked one sucks and the upcoming one is probably just going to be Sunday Service crap.

Pusha T is apparently very upset about people making album releases an "event", after Kanye spent close to two years making an event of an album he never even released.

https://twitter.com/PUSHA_T/status/1166165168566521857

If I were betting Kanye is the one who leaked it anyways.

I definitely wouldn't put it past him to leak his own stuff. Especially to prove his creative process and justify why he scraps projects as he feels.

He'll probably sue himself in a couple of months for leaking it. Dude is about as stable as POTUS

Dropped by Adidas today. That's actually pretty big as his shoe line with them made a lot of money.

It's not even right to make fun of this dude anymore, he has transcended from "asshole" to "needs legitimate mental health intervention"

The only good thing to come out of this is seeing George W. Bush photoshopped next to Mike Myers saying "Kanye West doesn't care about black people." Not that I cared enough to think about it but there's no way I would have guessed the ****show this timeline has turned into.

why did Kanye West cross the road?

To go to a Bagel shop, and then to go next door to the Sketchers headquarters to try and speak with the CEO.. Robert GREENBURG.. only to get escorted out.

he was apparently filming in an unauthorized manner as well, so hopefully some vids come out of it showing the insanity.
