So my clutch started slipping today...
06 fxt act heavy duty clutch and pp
It was really weird. My clutch pedal is always really stiff and today I went to leave the gym and the pedal went limp right after starting the car. And now the pedal has remained soft and the clutch is slipping. There was no signs of slipping or other issues before starting the car today. Any guesses?

Howdy all, longtime lurker!

Just picked up a 2007 wrx wagon and I'm considering a cobb dp. I really don't want to fork out the $500 - $600 for an accessport so I'd rather have someone tune the a/f for me. What's a good shop to get a tune at and how much will the tune for something like this typically run?

Thanks,
-Josh

Medamullet (Jason) and 907bum (Jesse) are both on the forum and do open source tuning. Zip Tie and Racing edge have dynos they work on, which will cost a little more. Everyone has their favorite, do some research and talk to them to decide what you want. You're still in probably $200-400.

So I really want to get into racing. I'm thinking about buying a miata, which research shows is an awesome first track car. But where do I start in terms of actually driving on the track? What seat time can I get before wheel to wheel racing? Any info from utah guys would be greatly appreciated!

look on nasautah.com
you'll start in hpde 1 and have to move up through 2, 3, and 4. then you can apply for your racing license to run wheel to wheel. it will take quite a bit of events. depending on skill, you'll only need to do hpde 1 once before you graduate to 2, but for the others it will take multiple outings before moving up.

see above for open track days.
as for WOW, if you get there right at the start you will probably get between 6-10 laps. sometimes they open both tracks so you get more laps. they have autox as well and you could get more(shorter) laps doing that. big track really is fun though and a good way to get started before going to an open track day.

You will be fine with a full tank of gas for a wow event. Like Greg said too, there's a gas station at the track as well. Have fun!

Default VF40 on KSL

Has anyone had the chance to deal with Richard on KSL? He always has vf40 turbos on KSL that he has rebuilt. If so are they comparable to the bnr 16g?

Thanks for any help

Yes I am looking for a bnr 16g or vf52 or a cheap vf40 I can send to bnr. I have a 09 forester xt that I am wanting to install it on. I came across his add on KSL and thought I would see if anyone has had experiences with him. Looks like i'm better off staying away from him/that turbo.

Maybe you should call BNR and get Brian on the phone with your questions. He no longer takes vf40's for trade-ins now that he has had his own housings created to make the vf40 program much easier and less expensive to get you a much better turbo.

His customer service is fantastic.

My BNR16G was contaminated 2 months after initial install. I sent it back for warranty repair. He tore it down while I was on the phone and told me of the contamination and recommended a different oil supply line to prevent the contamination again. Even though this was not a warranty issue he offered a $200 rebuild. I asked for an upgrade to the BNRhta68 and had a new turbo 2 days later for only $500.

Almost 20,000 miles later, I am still a happy man.

BNR service rocks and replaces all the troubles with the vf40! From initial inquiry and questions to last conversation he was on the phone 5 times to make sure I knew what my options were.

K need some knowledge. One of my tgv sensor keeps going out for some reson. So my question is. Can I just delete the tgvs ( I have the skills & tools) and be fine or well that mess up my tune and make me need a retune? I know someone that said they could delete my check engine light codes it would throw from the ECU. So that wont be a problem just wondering about my tune.

Just delete the tgv's and bypass the code, no change to the tune needed.

Your car should be ok without a full re-tune. The danger is with "More airflow" (assumes turbo that can move it) you may run into area's of the mapping that aren't scaled. EX: pre tgv deletes you run 2.2 load, after 2.3 load. Mafv may increase by as much as .01-.15v. If you do some logging before and see what the load is at then after it will help to confirm you are still safe.
