I recently moved to Utah and am running a shorty catless dp with stock midpipe in my 05 wrx. I was hoping that I'd pass emissions but I failed the visual. So, I need a stock shorty downpipe. Let me know if you've got a stock dp I could buy or borrow!

I guess Brody is no longer doing this? Iíve got someone looking for an engine troubleshooting and possible rebuild. I guess he bought a WRX recently with a possibly blown motor.
Any options other than Simple and Solid? Heís more in the Ogden area.

Thanks!

New to SLC, traded in my 11 wrx for a 17 STI. Would like to engage the SLC community. Requested adds to all mentioned Facebook groups.

Have a trunk with a wing I'd love to swap

Been lurking for a couple years now and I can't seem to find a trusted tuner around here for the FA20DIT. Can anyone with experience give a recommendation? I've found Simple Performance and FNP so far.

I really don't want to do another etune if possible.

I'm In the SLC/Provo area for a week but it looks like E85 is a unicorn. Any stations carry it? Also did Utah get rid of the front plate requirement? I always hated that when I lived here before.

We've discussed bringing the SLCsubaru site back at great length time and time again, but it all comes back to it never getting as much usage as Facebook (or as much exposure).

And EVERYONE says they'll be active, and would be a great mod/admin/leader/godemperor .... until they aren't. Sometimes, you get too busy with life. Sometimes, you stop modding your car or caring to do so. Sometimes your priorities shift and you're too busy saving the world to keep checking IP's to see if the 100 new accounts that registered for the day are Russian spammers or not.

Sadly, I kind of wish we could get it going again, and just pass it on to the next generation who says they will manage it, but at some point, it becomes the same battle over again. I remember the tough time that Pumpkyn and I had trying to get the rights to the name from the previous owners, but then with us, it has fallen by the wayside and the pattern has repeated itself. That, and I hate to say, but forums are mostly a dead format these days. Hell, this is the first time I've logged on to Nabisco for, like, over a year, and that's just because I was trying to find the original eBusiness thread (no such luck).

So.....someone who is wiser than me....explain what would need to occur in order to use a hybrid motor (i.e. EJ257 shortblock with EJ207 heads)....

I picked up a set of used (needs to have the cylinders bored and honed a little larger) EJ257 block halves, and have been wanting to stick it into my 03 WRX after building it. My big concern, though (assuming I don't end up having to sleeve the block) is that I am contemplating doing the Brian Crower Stroker kit, which would put my displacement at 2.71 with heads that have been designed to flow with a 2.0.....

.....so, what thickness of head gaskets and how aggressive of a cam would be the recommendation to run so that I don't have problems with compression blowing things up?

Woah I got my password right the first time. Suck it Kent! Jk. Umm I think you just need to get the headís done machined to match the larger bore of the 257. Use the 257 head gasket and you should be good??

Gasket thickness will just depend on the CR you want, but any good mls gasket should do the trick with arp studs.

Moo.

Mooooo indeed, Rykardo. I'm also amazed that you aren't a Guru on here. Maybe you just need to post more. Also, impressive member you got there.

NUMBER. Member NUMBER.

I would think that my CR would be enough to asplode things if I didn't run it a little thicker, assuming that I end up finding a way to go forward with this plan. But we need to restore Max to glory. He was born to race.

I decided to take the wrap off the track car and go with a fresh glossy paint job. I do plan on paining the interior and engine bay the same color. This will put me behind and most likely i wont be able to attend the first race of the Nasa UT season but i'm okay with that. Watching Kenny's build on Instagram gave me the motivation I needed.

Man, once you get married and have a kid it's a lot harder to stay in the garage as much as i used too. Definitely looking forward to sanding the car down, cut the fenders, go bigger wheels and tires.

If youíre interested in an idea that I think would work out Iíll share it with you first in a DM or here, however. I would be 100% for help run it and keep it active. The best part is that it doesnít have to be just vehicles we talk about because we can have different subjects.

Seriously. And it also sucks even more when you've just got a small carport instead of a garage.

So, since we're working on reviving this.....what are everyone's #CarGoals this year?

When I bought the WRX, it already had a FMIC, VF22, header, full exhaust, was tuned, etc.......and I feel like I never got the chance to actually learn how to drive it fast as a SLOW car. Not that it's particularly fast AS IS, but I feel like the learning curve would be steeper. It's always been a street car, but because of the speed it was capable of, I never really learned how to drive it to it's limit. I never did take it to WOW or AutoX or anything, but as I mature, I really want to learn how to legitimately race it. As such, my current plan is to return it to as close to stock as possible, and more or less do a good restoration on it - I also purchased it with an r/r title, and it has definitely been ridden hard and put away wet at this point.

As for the FXT, I hope to finally get the downpipe back on and get it back up to "stage 2+", but we shall see. It needs some suspension work for sure, but it sits pretty well with the power where it's at. The royal pain of the 4EAT is that it can't handle as much power as even the "glass tranny" of the WRX. I know there are some mods to make it accept around 400hp okay, but I feel like that would be a bit excessive for it's use, and it's my DD anyway so I need it to be reliable.

Shoot come out to a WOW+ event and I can be in the car with you since I am instructor. Nasa event's are great too but to get a taste of it, definitely try a wow+ event. They hold them the 2nd Wednesday of the month and they should be starting these around March or April.

With your FXT your WRX transmission should be okay for 400hp, that's around how much i'm making on my track car (WRX) and still going strong. Been racing it for 6ish years besides the down time lol
