Clean rims weekly with soap and water; never had a problem with brake dust.

dipyourcar.com sells a product called brakedustpro. Yeah... its for cleaning brake dust on plastidipped wheels.

+1 for simplegreen. I use it on bird poop and other road grim that soap and water wont get off.

Break Dust Pro from dipyourcar.com works great and safe on PlastiDip

Anyone have any experience with the Vintage Gold. Do i need to put down a base coat before i apply or can i just clean my rims and spray it straight on the stock rims?

no base required, but i would recommend using a base color to either darken or lighten the original color of the wheel (or grey for neutral) but this is only to save money as the cans of vintage gold are a lot more than black, white or gunmental

Thanks. They are just the stock aluminum rims on the impreza premium. If i got 1 or 2 cans of the black how many cans of gold should i get?

if you are doing just the face, (leaving the wheels on the car) then you only need 4 cans, I prefer to get 5.

black might darken the gold slightly (only theory I haven't tested this for myself yet) I would get gun mental grey.

I would do 1 base color and 3 gold. that should be plenty.or 2 base color and 3 gold.

If you are doing front and back, then 7/8 is the magic number.

it definitely does, but its not 100% touch-less like they say, I still need to use a soft bristle brush. But the smell is very strong.

I need some of these pre-cuts. How did you acquire them?

Also this thread is really making me want to experiment with some ideas on my car. Thinking I want to plasti-dip the hood scoop red.

just did my g forces for winter in anthracite grey. they came out pretty damn good. i will post pics when they are done drying and mounted this week sometime. it easy to use and covers well. my rotas were hyperblack and peeling very badly. they were due for some kind of paint. they are for winter.see now they hold up. might dip my taramc 3 summers for next year if it holds up good on the g forces. here are a few pics before i glossed them.

Did you just peel the access dip off? How did you get just the badge dipped?
