Default Another UT emissions question

Do any of you utahans have JDM swapped ecus? If you do, and they don't communicate with the emissions reader, do they just do the sniffer test?

That's why you do the swap, then register your car in Summit County or somewhere else who doesn't check emissions

It's what I've done, only no engine swap yet.

get an address of family or a friend anywhere outside of Davis, Salt Lake or Utah counties and you have no emissions requirements at all, just safety every other year. my silvia is registered in iron county at a sister-in-law's apartment in cedar city.

there is a thread i read here or on forums.freshalloy.com about a obd2 simulator which is used to test scan tools. you plug a scan tool into it and it can simulate an obd2 diagnostic system in a car. you could wire one of those up in your car and maybe be good to go.

Hmmm....I'll have to find a relative that doesn't live around here...

can you register a car to a PO box in another county?

Weber County also has emissions testing yearly.

Yes my friend registered his POS probe, that has no chance of passing emissions, to a PO box he got in tooele. He so cheated the system, but it works so do it. :P

1996 Impreza L with 2002 STi swap.

I have my OBDII emissions certificate in my glovebox for those that say it won't pass

You should probably get a certificate for bumping a 15 year old thread.
