Why are people so dumb?! And to top it off I think he was bragging about his FWD being so awdsome. I mean awesome*

No one really understands the stage thing. Stage 2 for us is different than stage 2 for him and so on. People hear that stage crap and get all excited.

I kinda understand the stages... But it doesn't mean much about the car other than "it's not stock." The way the car is tuned makes the biggest impact on the amount of power it has.

I'm driving down a main street by where I live to get to work when suddenly a no offense to anyone a "big" dude swerves to get next to me. He is driving a fairly new accord V6 sedan (His daughter is in his vehicle with him)
Dude: Hey man is that Subaru fast? Me: Ya Dude: How much horsepower does it have? Me: Roughly 400bhp Dude: No way Subaru's can't make that much horsepower, I would know I race professionally for Honda. Me: Oh ok Dude: Ya this thing is a V6 350hp (I'm kinda like huh so I just continue on my way to work) Half a block later Guy gets next to me puts it in tip-tronic? (I dont know what it's called on those) and floors it and literally bounces off the rev limiter. I was stunned and made a detour to get far far away. Never the less haha it made my day I've been laughing about it since it happened. haha |

I was showing my friend my Bugeye for they first time and the first thing he did was turn to me and ask. "Did they realize your headlights would be that ugly when they designed the car?" I smiled, turned and looked at his mitubishi that struggles to go over 100 and said "Did they realize your car would be such a $&!#-box when they disgned it?"
Had another friend try to convince me that my stickshift was called an automatic, and he had a mechanic buddy who would back him up. |

I mentioned this in another thread but it deserves mention. My friend said I could bring my car down to the shop he works at and fine tune my alignment after I install Coilovers I just bought. I told him I wanted some more negative camber (obviously) . He told me that negative camber is
Driver wheel \\ \\ pass wheel, and that racecar drivers run a lot so they can go around turns with the wheel straight No thanks, bud |

There are A LOT of cars that are faster than Subaru's out there unfortunately. I guess it just depends what kind of car you have, but even Evo's make crazy power with simple bolt on's where are the EJ engines don't seem to react quite the same to minor bolt ons. The funny thing is that the car has over 300,000kms! So over 180,000 miles and the thing still pulls like a horse with mustard stuck up its bottom (Top Gear reference) |

And the kid I was talking about had a b5 2000 A4 with the 1.8t and a 5 speed. I honestly doubt it put down 290whp, I think he just said that. But I may be wrong here. |

Installing my exhaust yesterday, this nice old lady ( maybe in her 60-70's) walked by passing out fliers for the neighborhood. At first, I was like, " damn solicitors" she handed me the flier and said " wow that's a nice Subaru.. Which one is it?" I kindly said " WRX, I'm surprised you know what kind of car it is!" she said" yes because I've owned 4 of them before, the legacy". I told her she was the first person who knew what brand car I drive since I've owned it. 3 weeks total!
That made my day! |

This happended way back in 2004. I literally just picked up 04 STi. A couple buddies decided to go down to Philly to get cheesesteaks. My friend also had a 04 STi. We were both in the left lane at a traffic light and two guys in a Saab convertible asked us if we really needed all that air. Those hood scoopes are huge.

Funny little situation today.....
I'm driving home and end up stopped at a red light behind an Evo X - license plate: "BYE STI" *Random guy in a VW next to me rolls down his window: Guy: *making the 'O' face while screaming "DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE!!!!!!!" *points to Evo Me: *smile & shrug =D I think he was expecting a duel to the death.......ended up just cruising behind the Evo enjoying his puffs of black smoke as he shifted...... SIDE NOTE: I think the supposed rivalry between STi's and Evo's is so stupid. We are more brothers than enemies; both 4 cyclinder, turbocharged, awd, rally inspired breeds..........END THE HATE!!!!!! |
