Have a 60 - 1 with a built motor?
Just seeing if anybody is running a 60-1 custom twin scroll setup along with a built motor. Well built motor, rods, pistons, crank, cams, ect. I would like to see some numbers and see how this thing spools up. Ron said its a crazy setup that will get me 450whp on pump and spool like crazy! Anybody back this up? Lets see.

I'm running a t3/t4 too, but slightly larger.

I have used the 60-1 many times and tuned them on just about every Subaru motor out there. They are great on pump gas but fall short on race gas and high boost. This compressor has a pretty short and wide map. Dont expect big numbers with it. Its just not enough. Paired wth the Small t31 hotside and its a bit lopsided.. Def not my favorite.

pistons and rods 2.5 liter with wrx heads, and dpr 272 cams with valvesprings and retainer.
458 whp at 22 psi with some pretty bad mechanical problems. I expect numbers to go up quite a bit when these are resolved. Take into account I will also be running 35-40 psi on c16 gas. Aiming for well over 600whp. I have a t3/t67 with p-trim turbine wheel. It is a 75 lb/min turbo. The 60-1 is a 61 lb min/turbo. They should make about the same power on pump gas. Hopefully around 450whp-500whp on pump. My turbo will really out shine it in the higher boost though. It can make up to 700whp. |

I just think that the GT35r .82 in more up my street. I really want to hit that 500whp mark and not gain a lot of lag doing it. I think with the combo of my pistons, rods, bearings, cams, and valve springs, I should more than hit my 500whp goal and get there in a hurry.

I have done 3 T3/T67's over the years. Not a bad turbo. But I highly doubt 600 to 700 on that engine. Real good pump gas turbo though. Let us know how it works out man.
The 60-1's problem is that its a short ass Compressor map. It will really start to breath fire anything over 25 psi. Use Big FMIC pipes and a large core. It wont make 500 on pump gas. You can forget that. It will work better with the t4 devided turbine housing but still... Not the best choice.. At that point might as well do a T04R compressor! Cya CLark |

I'm using the "BIG" turbine wheel in my turbo... it's a p-trim turbine. Most people seem to use smaller stage 5 or stage 3 wheels in their t3/t67's. Hopefully it will make much more power than the other ones. I feel that the stage 3 and stage 5 turbines are abig mismatch for the 75 lb/min compressor. For it to really be effective I think it should also be in a T4 housing, twinscroll if possible. That's what I like about the older t3 and t4 framed turbos. You can customize it to whatever you want. Rebuild and upgrade it for next to nothing.
The turbo is rated to make 730whp, but more realistically I'm only going for the 600's. This might be hard without more headwork though. As in sheer flow capability, it should be the same as a 40R, but slightly less efficient. BTW, Clark, I think you ran this turbo yourself. I remember you posting about it. Then I later bought the whole kit used from kingpin. I had to replace the uppipe though since it was too small (stock diameter), and the wastegate was flanged for a 38 mm. Yes. Thats a big advantage. I have tuned them with the 3, 5 and P trim wheel. The P trim was the best when used in the .7 ar twin entry housing.
