Default So I almost got crushed today

I was driving with my friend back home tonight (around 1:00 am). My friend was driving his Accord, I was in the passenger seat. This was on 66 right after you cross over the beltway going towards DC (east). Then all of a sudden a white/silver sedan starts merging into our lane. My friend honks the horn and hits the brakes. The guy merges into our lane, then merges into the shoulder, then plows right off into the grass probably 1 foot from the concrete walls that line 66. Almost takes out a sign, but manages to avoid hitting anything. We had just passed a Riverdale Park Ranger car from MD, he put on his lights after he saw what happened and most likely is talking to that guy right now. Glad to see our Park Rangers out there doing their job Anyways I am guessing the guy fell asleep at the wheel judging from how he managed to save himself from hitting the wall.

CN: Guy probably falls a sleep at wheel on 66, misses hitting us by a foot, then misses hitting wall by another foot and manages to get back onto the shoulder of the road unscathed for the most part. Park Ranger flashes lights and pulls up behind him.

Seriously driving while drowsy is worse then driving slightly intoxicated. Not like smashed but like one or two beers. I've had my share of scares doing the same thing, now I just pull over and take a quick 10/15 minute nap. Wish more people would do the same

When I was on shift work I would sometimes get home and not remember any of the drive, that was scary.

Yea be careful out there, sometimes it felt like if I stopped I would sleep till morning. Sometimes you just need some food or to stop and really wake up.

^^^^ +1

I used to work an hour and a half from home and sometimes won't get off until very late. I just stop frequently at parking lots and either take a quick nap or walk around my car.
