I have had a bunch of different snow tires, from cooper weathermaster, sam's club snowtrakkers, dunlop m3's and nokian wr's. The Snowtrakkers were the cheapest and were awesome on my outback, I used them like all terrains driving just about anywhere. The nokian wr's were on my 9000 aero and were more of a compromise tire than a super awesome snow tire. If I could only have 1 set of tires in the snow belt I'd probably get them. The coopers were on my old camry wagon and did a fine job. The dunlops on my current wrx did a fine job in the lame winter we had last year in the northeast.
cliffnotes? the best snow tire is the one you buy and put on your car. They'll ALL do a better job than all (no) seasons. Why would you buy tires at the dealer? Do you like paying like 2x too much? there are WAY too many online options to pay that much. For $1200 tirerack can send you tires, mounted on wheels with TPMS sensors inplace ready to bolt onto the car. (thought you'd have to get the sensors sync'd with the car and I don't know how you do that. |

just spotted this through slickdeals.net
http://dtdoutlet.com/DTD_Ebay_100_Fu..._1025-1104.pdf http://stores.ebay.com/Discount-Tire...99&PID=1225267 my mother has gotten tires through them a couple times. pretty good service, similar to tirerack.com. slickdeals link says "Offer valid from 10/25/12 through 11/04/12 only" http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/8200...es-or-4-wheels |
