Update 6/4/18
Good news and bad news with this one.
Se the paint is finally done and 3R did a great job with it! I was also able to get a few pics of the new wheels on along with the brakes and a few other goodies. I still kinda miss the green though.














The Fender and hood louvers also came back from powdercoating and just need to be riveted on now.

We also started getting the new dual master cylinder kit mounted and its almost ready for brake lines. we decided to keep ABS just in case and we're planning on relocating the unit underneath the master cylinders like in the second pic.





The Kognition wing finally showed up as well so that's pretty cool. this thing is a monster and looks great!




Unfortunately that's where the good news and and the bad news begins. Today when the intake manifold came off to put the gaskets in, we noticed rust down in each of the head ports. So the spark plugs came in and we checked the engine with a borescope and found rust in each of the cylinders on the walls and the pistons. So I guess it's time to tear the engine apart and start replacing a rebuilding as necessary. I'm thinking i'll send my case halves to either IAG or Outfront to do a closed deck conversion and maybe some PNP work on the heads to remove the rust.

So am I understanding correctly?

The engine was built about 14 ish months ago, sat around as you did all the fab and such. Now it's full of rust to the point it needs to be torn down?

It's actually been since July 22nd of 2015 if I remember correctly but yes. There's rust everywhere in the cylinders too so we're gonna pop off the heads to check everything out.

How'd the rust happen? That doesn't seem right at all.

I'm not really sure. The only thing I can think of was the brake cleaner I used when I was removing the tape residue before i installed the tgv`s

Update 8/16/18

Not a ton of progress this time but we finally broke my engine apart to see the carnage from whatever got inside of there. It definitely looks like something was poured into my engine. I feel like if it was environmental, all cylinders would look the same. the bad cylinder even has mold in it.











But on the Plus side, We started working on the ABS relocation and we have plenty of room to make everything work. The stock ABS pump bracket was cut up a bit and then mounted to the frame rail with some nutserts.

Update - 10/1/18

Alright I guess it's time for another update. Finally got the car on the ground so I was able to see how it sits on the new wheels and its gonna need a bit of adjusting to get things sitting better. But I like it so far.







I also finally got around to painting my valve covers and coolant crossover pipe with that VHT wrinkle paint and it came out pretty nicely actually. Very close to the wrinkle finish on my powder coated intercooler piping.







We also got the Tigwerks AN fittings pressed into my valve covers and Block







I'll have more pics of the engine in the next few days.

Still plugging away with the build. The brake lines are finally finished and look awesome!







They decided to mount the adjustment knob in a spot that's pretty stealthy. I wouldn't have thought of that, but I like it.



The new engine is also finally done, the guys at Funk E Built did a great job again. This one got pretty pricy
