I think Tanabe is looking for cars to test suspension parts if some of you haven't bought springs yet.

Things I have learned
Newbie here but researched my brain to waste on this car running a 2013 impreza sport premium Slow Lesbian Wagon. Rear-end is in fact the same as the '08 wrx and '12 BRZ, except for the rear trailing arm that would be the BRZ. I even had the parts guy print the build diagrams for me. With that said I would stick to wrx springs for load ratings. I am running RS-R's, Shout out to Ben, they ride great post alignment. I didn't care much for the excessive negative camber -2.3 in the rear after the spring drop, eats tires like cookie monster eats cookies. So, I installed Godspeedproject rear LCA's from an '08 wrx. Post install my rear toe looked like djim8, unsafe at best and undriveable at 35 mph. The rear camber and toe is corrected now, running -.7 in the rear, toe is now "in", car has some oversteer and wants to turn on a dime now but feels twitchy. Probably needs a little more negative camber in the rear. That's all I got to say about that. Next mod looking to go rims and tires.

Toe Issues with adjustable LCA
Well I put new tires on the SLW today and the toe issue is slightly back. I don't think I have enough negative camber and I am tired of dealing with the toe issue, so BRZ toe arm here I come.

I'm worried that my ISC N1s will camber out the rear too much without camber plates. |

The issue with the toe-out in the rear is due to the fact I took negative camber out of the rear. I think the car is rolling off the lot at -1.4 to -1.6 stock, and that is pretty pronounced for a stock car. The toe arm has play if you are going negative with the camber not so much if you are dialing it back. I just bought a BRZ/FR-S/08WRX/+10legacy adjustable rear toe arm. Yeah that's not a typo, subaru uses the same rear-end parts on almost all the cars, might as well throw the xv crosstrek and forester in there too. I got a megan's racing (say what you want) toe-arm for $100 off amazon at kinz performance. This car will never be tracked so I am not spending the money on whiteline arms. I would rather upgrade the digital clock radio borat special radio this car has before I do that. I have RS-R springs, kept stock shocks, but when it comes time to replace shocks I may try stock wrx shocks. Also, the stock wrx rear sway bar fits this car, I highly advise anyone to upgrade since this car's rear is mush. I know the aftermarket braces will help but that looks like the 08wrx is more compatible based on the diagram(Disclaimer: I am not a subaru engineer but I stayed at a Holiday Inn, so check yourself before you wreck yourself). But I digress, I would recommend rear toe and LCA's arms if you want to save tires and have proper drive dynamics. Oh and a heads-up, the brake pads only last 25k-30k on this car, what the crap. |

Bought her 500 miles ago and had to drop it right away with some rims. Not satisfied with the drop I could still fit three fingers between the wheel and fender. I dropped it on b&g springs 1.2" and now wishing I should have went lower.

Tis exactly why I'm going straight to coils. The pictures of springs only on these cars didn't seem worth it..

Ok I decided to go coilovers, so my springs are up for sale if anyone is interested. Springs are b&g 1.2 drop and practically brand new.

So any coilovers which fit on 08 WRX, non-STi will fit on 2013 impreza as well without any modifications?

I just called tein and told me the 08+ wrx coilovers will fit our cars, direct bolt on. The springs I have now are for 08+ wrx so based on that I think it's safe to assume that most if not all springs/coilovers of 08+ wrx will fit our cars.

From the available info, ALL 08+ WRX coilovers fit our "new body" Imprezas. This also leading me to believe you can run 08+ WRX aftermarket shocks/springs as well, if you want to go the non-coilover route. As for me, I'm going coils this month. For the look I'm going for, springs alone isn't worth the money.

For the money springs were worth it for me. 200 vs 1000+ for coilovers. No brainer.
