Default 2018 STi Aftermarket wheel and tire fitment

I'm picking up my 2018 STI in just few days hence I wanted to test fit my Winter wheels which I used on my 2017 WRX.

Wheels are 17x7.5 Sparco Terra with 45mm offset.

They do fit but barely!
We are talking about 2-2.5mm clearance!

Huge shoutout to Joey D'Andrea at Berman Mid-City Subaru in Chicago for doing the test fitment with me!

I was wondering about winter wheel/tire fitment as well. Looks like an 18" wheel might be a safer bet.

Wow, not that I care about the inside of the wheel well being scratched on winters*, but man that's a tight fit lol. Thanks for the info so far. Hope more people find this thread and chime in as the days go by. About to put a deposit on a base 18' wrb sti.

That's pretty close. You aren't worried about ice getting caught up in there?

As much as I hate hubcentric spacers, you might want to consider putting a little more gap between the wheels and your calipers during the winter driving.

I think I will actually play it safe and get some 18's for the Winter.

Doesn't fit. Under compression and high stress, the wheel weights will make contact with the caliper for sure.

I feel like I don't need to start a new thread to ask but sorrys and my bads all around if I'm jacking the thread..

So I'm happy to buy 18s and 235 40 18 tires. I doubt I'll need advice on brand of tire but I do need help with the rims. What size am I looking for? 18x8s? Does the offset matter?

Now I feel like this should be in noob section

The stock tire on the previous model years was 245/40R18. I'd go with that size, and an 18x8.5" wheel. Stock offset is +55, but you could go as low as +35 without any problems. To keep something close to the stock handling feel I'd do +45 or higher for an 8.5" wheel.

Thanks for posting, I am about to buy an '18 STI after my '17 WRX was totaled, and it looks like my 17" winter setup isn't going to fit... guess it's on to 18s.

Has anyone tried the pre-2015 STI wheels? More specifically, 2011-2014? I know the 2015-2017 fit, but I have not heard anything about previous years.

Cool. If you get to it sooner be sure to post. There are a couple people selling some older STI wheels that I might pick up if they fit.

Did you try the wheels to see if they fit yet?

See here - https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2844147. Much more fitment info in that thread.

With that said, the answer is that it depends on the spoke design, which obviously varies depending on the wheel. What brand and model of wheel are you looking at?
