Default CEL Blinking... how to fix it

Hey I searched but all I found for 'blinking CEL' was solutions to what it means, not how to fix it. So, can someone tell me how I fix my cars blinking CEL? I heard it could be a misfire or something to do with the catalytic converter. Like I said, I searched, but I didn't find how to get it fixed.

thanks in advance

EDIT: The code was P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected

Most likely it's misfiring, it will sometimes blink as it happens. You need to pull the code. Until then it's just speculation. There's a reason it's doing that, plug in a code reader and see what it's telling you.

There is no magic fix for a blinking CEL. You need to have the codes pulled, otherwise you might spend alot of money and still have the problem. Once you get the codes pulled, post them and we can go from there.

List your mods. Lightweight flywheel? Colder plugs?

when i had my truck, I was on the freeway and downshifted into 4th to do up the slight incline and all of a sudden the CEL started to blink a couple times. When I let off the gas, it went away but I checked the owners manual and it said severe engine problems will or have occured. Well I drove it around for a while and noticed at idle, the whole truck would "wobble" and i would here a ticking sound. After a while of driving and being told by many that it was nothing, i was driving normally 1 day and the cel light came on and stayed on... I took it to the dealer and they told me to come in. When I did, the head mechanic came up to me and dropped 1/2 of a spark plug in my hand. He said the other half if inside the cylinder... $8K later with lots of forged parts, a super charger, and long amounts of tuning, it had gone from a 4.7 liter dodge ram 1500 to a 5.3 liter bored and stroked- s/c dodge ram 1500 that would DESTROY soo soo much! hahaha

long story short, don't wait to see what happens and take care of it asap...

- don't drive it till its fixed

Start by changing your spark plugs because its probably about due for them. If it is still misfiring after that then you should take it to a shop or get with one of the locals and have someone do a diagnostic on it.

a flashing CEL means that its an active misfire, vs a solid CEL that could be a passive misfire.

Flashing means you should not drive the car at all.

Check this items, in order:
- Spark Plugs
- Coils
- Injectors
- Compression test

:sigh:
are you tuned for the intake?

If not take it off and get the OEM intake back on.
Most intakes are going to make it run lean, they alter the way the airflow pass the MAF and cause the MAF to read less air than it's really getting. Making your a/f ratio lean, and that causes predetination (knock), and that causes your CEL to flash at you.
