So the regular STI has the neon green calipers but not the RA?

Yeah its the one thing I wish they had done better. Should have done gold or something cooler on the RA.

Looks like the American RAs get the 7" infotainment vs the 6.2" units on the Canadian RAs...

this appears to be true... I've look at the interior presentation of the Toronto car show and the radio is different... Canadian RA's were sold mosthly instantly back in august... is Subaru took the benifit of this and then passed their old radio's?

Yeah, my dealer that got their first a few days ago confirmed about the 6.2” for Canada. So weird they’d add another configuration to production... and a crappy one at that. I guess they needed to dump their inventory...on us

Whats the difference between the 7" and 6.2"? Aside from size?

Bluetooth reliability and some interface differences... like Capacitive vs. resistive touch screen. And in Canada the 7" comes with nav and HK audio -- no standalone 7" ... maybe that's why we got downgraded? Anyway, I know its a "track car", but for the price it goes for up here, I don't see why it has to come with the 6.2" especially if the 7" is available south of us.

That's because the 7" one is much better.

Bizarre business decision for sure considering the price point.

Perhaps non-navi 7" head units can be purchased from the States and retrofitted to Canadian cars. There is a thread elsewhere around here where people have easily upgraded the 6.2" head units on their WRXs.

So no Harmon Kardon speakers and is the 6.2" comes with Navi?

Can anyone confirm the top screens are running like the rest of 2018 sti? full color and with the new info screen? It sucks that if they also uses the old tech from 2016

Unlike the prototype, there is no HK or Navi for the Canadian RA.

The multifunction display is 2018 spec.

Coming from the guy who wouldn't produce ANYTHING with his name/VON blocked out to prove it. Your order with THAT dealer is no different than if I walked in to Heuberger Subaru and said I want one, here's my deposit. OF COURSE they are getting one.

What I told you was there was no initial "sold order" process for these cars and was telling you that if your dealer told you so, THAT was a lie. Was trying to look out for you. Had no clue your standing with the dealer. There weren't any VONs for these cars for another couple months after that. When they were officially allocated.

It just means you have a good enough relationship with your dealer that they carried through on their commitment to you without any official ordering process being available. Only hopes and dreams were available, which they were more than happy to oblige. Not all dealers have that kind of follow-through. Congrats on having a decent enough dealer. Glad you're getting the car you want.

Wish I could get over my anti-EJ sentiment.

90k? You've purposely been avoiding driving it, holding out for a proper replacement.

Point being, I still dig the EJ in it, but would like to get something more modern with a more efficient engine. Terrible mileage. Fun as hell to romp. Something tells me one has to do with the other.

When I got it back from the dealer, I promptly put my couch in it and moved it to the new house. Such a great package and still looks great. sigh

Oh. I fully understand. Could have easily made a copy and used a black marker to cover said info as I suggested. I just wanted to see this "sold order" sheet they claimed to give you.

Just spoke to dealer, my car was released yesterday and should be on truck to Tampa soon. He is estimating 7-12 days for delivery.

Listened to the Smoking Tire podcast and Matt Farah praised the STI RA. He thought, if you have the money, that the car was worth the price over an STI Limited.

That said if you can get $2-3K+ off a Limited and have to pay full MSRP or even markup for an RA it likely makes it a much more difficult decision. I would expect the RA will have better resale though.
