Default Removing dog hair from carpeting...?

I just bought an 06 impreza wagon. The previous owner must've had a dog or something, because there are a lot of small hairs in the carpeting in the back.

I tried using my powerful car vacuum and it barely did anything. I also tried using a wet towel and rubbing it with no luck. The tiny hairs all intertwine with the carpeting. Also, the hairs are all white and the carpeting black, so it's very noticeable.

Apart from picking out the hairs one by one, is there any solution to this...? If there is already link or sticky, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

I had this same problem with my 2000 2.5RS I just bought. I used a lint roller, and it worked alright. Not the greatest. I'll have to give that Pledge a shot...

Both of these will work ^^^^^.

If you don't have access to those items you can always use tape.

I had no success with the pledge fabric sweeper. I got much better results with this.

I've used duct tape successfully, but that's within a few days of a dog being in my car.

1) get access to an air compressor and make (male and female couplings) or buy a blowout tool

2) latex gloves work well to pull the hair out

At the same time rub your hand (with gloves on) in an orderly fashion and create piles of the dog hair and blow them out of the vehicle at the same time. It will be time consuming but it does work the best.

Duct tape FTW. Works wonders. Cheap and you get a lot of uses out of it.

haven't tried it yet, but read a post about this somewhere that good old rubber dish glove works when duct tape, vacuums, and others failed.

Pet hair is always a pain. It is actually barbed so it doesn't like to come out. I've had good luck with the 3m lint brush and the pledge fur thing. I also have a shop-vac end with "scrubbers" on it that help to rip the hair out of the carpet. That works pretty good for larger ones.

You could always shave your pet....

Although I probably wouldn't do that to my dog. I usaully fold down the seat and lay down a full size blanket for my 100lbs labra-hound. It does the job of keeping most of the fur off the black interior (reddish white fur).

Duct tape works, but it sometimes leaves a sticky residue if you use it for a long time like I did.

I would like to meet the guy who chose the carpeting for the hatch part of Impreza wagons some day and ask him why followed with a punch to the face. Long black carpeting that puts a choke hold on any hair or dirt that happens to come near it. Great for my white Siberian Husky... I've honestly never owned any fabric that's tougher to clean.

I use a Dyson DC28 with the Upholstery attachment. It works wonders. Dyson FTW! Kinda expensive, I use it for my house to. I have a husky and she sheds all the time.

I do a combo of all 3, pet hair brush then dyson then lint roller. that gets most of the hair out, but there's still hair in the car. I need to spend a weekend, take the seats out of the car and really dig in and get all the hair (We got rid of the dog with the longer hair recently, the bulldog's doesn't shed as much)
