Seeing those side by side shows off the subtle new tweaks to the bumper. I still don't like that new swish near the headlight, reminds me of the Lexus. But overall I like both of Bucky's cars

What swish?? I see no difference other than the design of the inner light a bit.

Hey everyone, I need your help deciding on a what deal to go with for a 2018 WRB WRX STi. Of course Heuberger Subaru's deals are the best since invoice pricing as I understand for a 2018 WRX STi limited is around $39K.

So this dealership is offering me a little bit under invoice pricing and a small deposit to start the build order, however when I asked the gentleman to give me in writing that they will do this, he told me that he can't give me in writing the actual price of the car since he will only know the price after the build has been ordered (I thought dealers know the invoice pricing since it was posted on this thread somewhere). He also told me that if I don't like the pricing of the car after it arrives, I'm not obligated to buy it.

So because of this, I'm hesitant to go with them which means I'll have to go with Heuberger Subaru since they have the best pricing, but then I have to factor in registration/titling and shipping myself.

What do you guys think, is this a good deal and would you go for it?

If he won't give you a price in writing don't waste your time. Tell him you already have a quote from another dealer further away and you would rather go with the closer location if they can match the price in writing with a mangers signature. Tell them you won't play their games, either they give you a firm price or you go elsewhere.

Yup, I said that and he advised me to go with the better deal in that case. He also wanted me to email him the quote, but I told him I didn't want to email quotes if they couldn't beat the price, however if they could beat the price then I would bring the quote in and show them. So I'm now looking for a better deal anywhere in California.

Sounds like that dealership plans on screwing you once the car comes in.
"Sorry, price just went up by 2k. Do you really want it? Else we got someone else in line for it"

I would go someplace else.

Does anyone know if any changes were done to the CVT for this year? Getting fiance a upgrade from her base model 2011 sentra to a 2018 limited wrx with the cvt.

I test drove the cvt for kicks when it first launched in the wrx and wasn't too happy. Granted shes the one who will be driving it 90% of the time anyway and im sure shes going to be happy with this upgrade no matter what.

She doesnt want a manual and im not starting that fight again :P

Im sure she will be, her sentra is as base as can be. I think power locks and automatic is the only features it has.

Im just sad they wont do a wrx in yellow, shes wanted a yellow car for a long time. But she also likes bright reds and blues so at least I have options

There was a modified CVT map, mid-2016, it tightens up shifts a bit. I'm sure the 2018's have it.

There's a couple other tweaks that look cool now that I see them side by side. Overall the angles all look more defined this MY

True dat... I ordered my limited with a wing delete. Regretting it now because the wing has grown on me. But to change to a wing they would have to cancel my order and then order again. Which would probably delay it I'm guessing.

You'd definitely get a later delivery date. Usually doesn't seem too tough to find a guy wanting to swap for a big wing, hopefully you got a popular color

Kind of a lame question but has anyone seen interior shots of the 2018 STI detailing the instrument stalk and whether the fog light switch is present? I'm not a fan of the mesh thing - seems like it would be simple to replace it with the fog light kit from the WRX but would want them to actually work...
