So leaving the dealership my car had a hard time starting

Won't crank but battery is fine. The car won't turn on unless I turn the key and push the clutch in at the same time. Clutch switch or starter problem?

So if you push in the clutch then turn the key, nothing? But if you push the clutch and turn the key simultaneously, it starts? I'm imagining Indiana Jones trying to get the timing just right as he swaps the idol for the sack of sand.

yeah. I let the gauges sweep and then clutch in and turn key but nothing. No crank either.

Both at the same time and it fires right up.
After doing more research when Jay recommending it was the clutch switch.. It seems to be my problem. Now hard hard is it to replace that?

Went out in the garage to look... not too hard. Maybe 30 minutes tops. There are two switches; one that detects if the clutch is depressed just a bit (sometimes called the "upper" switch, referring to the pedal position not the position of the switch) and one that detects if it's pushed in all the way. Try driving with the cruise control on, then push in the clutch a bit. If the revs jump it's the lower positioned of the two switches (the upper switch). That one is easier to replace.

Had to replace the one in the Mazda. Literally took less than 30 seconds and required no tools. Subaru could take a design cue.
