Daily Driver, No Problems , Redline it all day long, love beating guys who drive EVO's that think there the ****...Lmao..New cars now a days are getting faster out the lot, so i gotta make more power but so far i beat a lot of cars, and with this turbo, i freakin pull insane on the freeway, so V8 cars cant touch this baby on top end, Got at 180 mph but too scared to go faster then that. : )

^^^^ Got a dyno chart of that? 320whp is way more than I think that turbo is capable of, especially on a Mustang dyno and 91. I'd think it would be more like 320whp on a dynojet on 93

Very possible on the JDM STI engine. I have made 350whp many times with this engine and the PE1818 and PE1820 turbos.

I just swapped my old 205 for a built 207. I am running my stock 205 heads for now, which means no avcs and stock ecu. While hooking everything up, I realized there is a hose fitting on top of the 207 block that was not on my 205. I'm thinking it's for avcs maybe? Can somebody tell be what I should do with this. Do I need to plug it, or what?

Thanks in advance!

Tak a picture of it. I think you are talking about the crank case breather pipe on the block. THat needs to be hooked up. Take a picture and post it. Then read the threads for oil catch cans for STIs. People have posted several diagrams.

Both the 205 and the 207 have the crank case breathers... the 207 heads happen to have an additional set of breathers over the 205 heads... but thats not the issue I guess.

Hmm... yea, post some pics. The only real differences in the blocks themselves would be the open deck vs semi-closed deck and the standard crank vs the cross-drilled crank.

SO just read through this entire thread. I have a v7 back home that I will be re-starting the project end of the year. I like the v7 207 because of the strength and I figure with a nice turbo and the high revving capabilities I can stay in the power band better to TRY to make up for the lack of torque.

My plans were/are 205 heads from 04, intake already ported to 298 cfm at 18in/h20 and full lift. Exhaust ports being worked on as we speak....hopefully. Mate that with the 207 which I am leaving stock because I don't want to touch something balanced to 9k by Subaru themselves.

Heads will be full Ferrea valvetrain stock size valve. I was considering going oversize but decided not too, just to save a few bucks in valve seats. JDM intake manifold, ported TGV's, and ported TB.

Turbo and Cams are still undecided for me but I am looking for a fun drivable car at 330-350 ish hp so I know my heads and block will support that all day long without breaking a sweat. Im just concerned about the trubo dropping off at higher rpm.

Reason for going overkill on the reliability is that the car will eventually be sent down to Grenada in the Caribbean and access to resources is limited or expensive.

On a side note I have been thinking of selling parts as is or assembling and then selling because my car has become really competitive in auto-x (ESP) and I really enjoy the competition, but it would be such a waste.

whats your opinions on the direction I am going with the build ?

a stock location 30R w/ 1.5scroll headers/uppipe would be my recommendation!

what are 1.5 scroll headers geoff - are they just 4-2-1 headers with longer secondaries that merge just before the turbo?

Does anyone know which valves are used in the V9 JDM STi heads? Headgasket?

Thanks!

not sure of the PN, but I believe cossie only have one version for AVCS cams for EJ207

if so, we run them in one of our drag car with excelent results
they do add lag, but work amazing mid to top RPMs

V9 is identical to V8 with the exception of inner bend in the IC
there isn't too much V9s around, so you are better off looking for those parts from a V8

just note, that Spec C motors differ from regular ones by a mile

No way n the 180... The ECU is hard limited to 255KPH. Even if you use a Utec the Check engine light will flash. I had mine around 155mph but the side window popped out of the door seal and blew air in my face. This litterly scared the **** out of me. For some realistic top speeds, look at the texas mile results.. Your looking at 500 to 550whp to get up in the 170s.... Plus alot of tricks of the trade.

I don't know how accurate it was but on one of the 4th gear logs I did last nite, I had a 147 mph as a top speed listed on the log. That was one I did after I talked with you Clark...I wanted to see what the hell kinda speed I was getting at 7600 rpm+ with the ppg 4th gear on one of those pulls. Clark may be able to shed some light, but I have no clue as to actual whp numbers...we had figured 350-360whp on a low reader with the current pump gas set up...blouch 2.5r.

I've gone as fast with less mods, but I can tell you it surely didn't get there as quick as it did last nite.

i would just keep it stock..if you dont have the resources, why risk having all that time and money sitting there doing nothing?

about valves,

v8 and v9 exhaust valves are same they both sodium filled but intake valves are different. v8 intake valve material is more strong than ver9.

you can use v7-v8-v9 in all these models.

but in my country ver7 and ver8 have 2.0L jdm ej207 engines, ver9 have usdm ej257.

with new rom raider, it is possible to disable the speed cut totaly but i am not sure that with this power 290 km/h is a bit high to reach, maybe a to long straight road

i dont understand the question about the headgasket.

Hi, I find my JDM EJ207 dies off at around 6,700rpm. I can rev to 8,200rpm, but it just doesn't seem to make any sense to shift up there as you can feel the car dying off. I have an Autronic SM4. Is the only way to get it to pull strong up to 8,000rpm is to tune the AVCS?
