Lmfao, yea sorry I've been trolling this thread when I'm bored. I want these wheels on my JDM Forester turbo eventually. 1 sweet thing is that they are dual drilled so if I decide I need 5x114 hubs (6 speed) eventually it'll be no problem. Has anybody seen these wheels on an older Subaru? GC8 or something, if they fit that they will fit my Forester I'm sure.

I have an ACTUAL question though haha, alot of people have a big hate on for wheels like Rota bla bla bla because they are an affordable wheel but at the cost of not being as strong as wheels such as Work & Ray's (probably also have a hate on them because Rotas usually copy these high end wheel companies designs?)

So I'm just wondering, what makes these wheels better, are they nice & strong wheels like something along the lines of Wedssport or are they they same idea as Rota & so on? I love they way they look & I'm very happy they are as light as they are

The Mach V Awesome and Wicked Awesome use a "flow formed" casting technique. SSR was one of the pioneers of this process. To do it, you heat your aluminum until it's soft like butter, then squish that semi-solid aluminum into a mold. You get a molded part that is stronger than the traditional gravity-cast method, where the metal is fully liquid. But it's also a lot less expensive then full-on forging, where you have to use a huge multi-ton forging press.

im no Rota basher and you know ive have owned the Awesomes before. i think its a great light weight nicely priced option. So my question is...Is this the same way Rota makes their wheels? heres what they wrote on their website.

"From the delivery of the pure aluminum virgin ingots up to the casting and heat teratment processes, Rota wheels are subjected to top-of the-line quality checking to ensure that only good castings are churned out. Starting with the chemical analysis test to ensure that only the prescribed A356.2 aluminum alloy are being poured into the moulds, the casted wheels then undergo x-ray inspection, vacuum test and finally heat treatment to ensure that the required molecular grain structure and hardness ratings are obtained."

Good stuff. Eventually I will be picking up a set of these bad boys. Got a few other things on my list that need to come before new wheels, until then I'll just enjoy the pictures. Keep em coming! Also want to find a GC with these wheels on it if it exists!

Assuming my tires arrive on the truck today, I should be getting my wicked awesomes on the car today. Super excited.

Would the Wicked Awesome's fit on a 2014 STI Sedan without fender mods? If so, what size tires would be a good fit?

I have a hatch, but the wicked awesomes fit fine on both body styles. There are pictures all over.

265 35 18 I believe is the recommended tire size. I however will be burning up the stock dunlops before upgrading to the thicker tire. (the tires I am waiting on are autox tires to put on my stockers)

Are you running the stock tires on the Wicked Awesome?

Yes I will be.

9.5 inches is 241mm so a 245 will fit it like a glove. A 255 or 265 will fit very nicely as well.

I believe this car is running a 265 with no fender mods.

Thats my car. i was running a 265/35, but i had to do a roll in the rear. at that height the front fender was fine. i have since lowered it much more, but im running a different wheel setup so the issues i have up front now are irrelevant.

Have you guys considered making an 18x11 +20 in 5x114/5x100? I know there are some autox guys who would be interested.
