Default 02 WRX planning STI complete drivetrain swap - Which year STIs will swap in?

I am looking at a 2011 stock STI that has been totaled this weekend. Will the drivetrain swap into my 2002? If not, which year STIs do I want to target? I don't mind if I lose my 5x100 hubs

Sorry for being bad at searching

Thanks in advance

Best,

Glen

The trans, rear diff and drive shaft will work as long as you have a pull type clutch system in your car. I believe the 02 does but don't quote me on that. But because of track width and suspension geometry differences I believe nothing else from the 2008 or newer chassis will work. 04 will bolt right in without any issues and even retains your female type CV axle and 5x100 bolt pattern (wagon will have some track width changes to make to use STi axles). 05-07 use male axles. If you have everything including knuckles you can easily convert to 5x114. First thing you should do though is go to the drivetrain subforum and look at the 6 speed swap faq. All this info is already there waiting for you to read. Then after you've read it 3-4 times ask the specific questions you still have in that forum. That's where the people who have done this will be looking to help anyone else attempting it.

you will also have to get a wheel speed sensor adapter since the 08 use the abs sensors to calculate speed

Wrong section for drivetrain information. A quick search would definitely have yielded this https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=1672474 if you took sometime....
