You can pry the housings off easily - I cut the film slightly oversized and installed per instructions (water misted under and on top) then used a hair dryer to help remove wrinkles and smooth it overall

The black foglight plastic housing can be pryed off without having to remove the bumper? Are the just held on by plastic clips?

No clips. No bumper removal needed. Search the general 2012 Impreza thread or the Aftermarket thread for posts by HinGurl. She posted pix of it.

I know that this is a pic thread but since we're on the topic of lamin-x, has anyone ever used the hood protector film:

http://www.lamin-x.com/Invisible-Bug-Shield-p/ibs.htm

Was thinking that this would be a cheap solution to protect the front of the hood from rock chips, but I'm not sure if it would be easy enough to apply

I would say just get a clear bra.. and get it professionally installed unless you have prior experience

Also, I do like the White Satin Pearl, even though I'm not a big white-car person. It looks very snazzy in this car, especially with the dark wheels
Dumb question: I thought the Sport Limiteds did come with XM capabale radio, or is that different than HD?

Nope, you need to get nav to get XM. I wanted XM, but wasn't willing to pay for the nav. I'm sure they will change that.

Thanks, me too. Was originally looking for one in Marine Blue Pearl. Couldn't fine one and "settled" for the Sage Green and I'm glad I did. All it needs now is a rooftop spoiler and rally armor flaps!

Default Muffler delete

apexracer did his this way:

italia490 did his this way:

Exhaust Video :: MOV02783.mp4 video by strunz490 - Photobucket

italia490 has some videos in his photobucket album of the way it makes it sound.

I ordered this and this and I am having a friend weld it together for me when the parts arrive. I am picking up a gasket sometime this week too.

If I don't like it, I can always just bolt the muffler back on.

One exhaust shop said that Subaru might try to void my warranty if I did this, but I don't see how they could with Magnusson/Moss warranty act around. Wouldn't they have to prove that taking off the muffler was the cause for damage? (which is highly unlikely since a muffler just muffles the sound)
If that's the case, I'll just bolt the muffler on when I take it in for oil changes.
Following up: After doing the muffler delete has any sensors or check engines on the dash pop up? Just curious if it effected anything with warranty or performance.

You shouldnt have any issues with check engine lights or Sensors.. At the minimum, just a ECU reset as the flow may be freed up with no more muffler.

Thanks! Just imagine the damage I could do with a real camera and some skillz! haha

Yes, Alaska IS a nice place to visit and great place to live if you enjoy climbing mountains, fishing, camping, four-wheeling, hiking and hunting. Then winter you have skiing, snowboarding, snowmachining, etc.

I don't care for most of those things. I'm more of a city boy that would prefer just driving to the scenic routes, but not live in them. haha

Apparently in Homer you can drive out on the lake, and in Big Lake they have ice racing, but I've never gone. I'm not very curious out it, either. I prefer large fluffs of snow in high school parking lots.

I have waited 11 weeks for my two tone Sky-Blue Sport Limited. I took grief from my father-in-law for liking the two-tone (he got a Silver one), but I love it. I only wrestled with the decision to go blue rather than green. Your picture is beautiful, and I'd love to see a couple more, to hold me over until the boat arrives. I haven't studied this thread thoroughly, but I haven't been able to find too many two-tones. Awesome!

Sorry, previous pics were inside because it's been raining for a few days. I found a chance to take these.
