Default Who's going to be gay in a galaxy far, far, far away and go to the Star Wars premiere

I'm debating whether or not to shell out $30 a ticket to the Star Wars premiere at the Uptown Theater in DC. That movie theater only show's one movie at a time and is the biggest theater in DC. Just imagine an old style opera house that is now a huge movie theater.

So what are OT's thoughts? Wait for the DVD or be a star wars geek and hit the premiere?

i have a friend who has a friend who works at a movie theatre and i might be able to get into the midnight showing for free.. but i think i'm actually supposed to be driving to boston to pick my parents up at the airport late that night so i might miss the chance to see it for free..

I saw the re-release of Empire Strikes Back there. I also saw the original Matrix there and some other good movies. I wish I still lived in DC to see this SW at that theater. I'd definitely go the first night, just be prepared for costumed nerds. That theater is sweet. Those seats are so comfy and the sound system is great too. We used to sit in the back on the floor level, the first row so that no one was in front of us for 8 feet and we could stretch out.

I payed 9.50 for the premier. And im not gay.

I think you should have bought tickets 2 weeks ago at another theater for the regular price. 30$ for tickets sound just about ok, concidering that they are sold out everywhere

I'll probably go to a thursday matinee. There are only three theaters in my town, and the midnight showing at each has been sold out for two weeks.

BTW, I should add that I'd gladly pay $30 to see it at the Uptown. That theater owns. Plus its all about the experience. A friend of mine camped out for like 2 days to get us re-release tickets for the first showing. Well worth it.

Well I've been to that theater once for the Pearl Harbor premiere. That movie sucked but it was still a good time. The guy e-mailed me back and I just offered to take all four of them off his hands for $25 a ticket. So it looks like Star Wars at night and no work the next day for me.

Excitement, Adventure a jedi craves not these things.
