Unhappy Baja Interchangeable parts?

Hi everyone,
This is my first post, since I just got my 05 Baja Turbo yesterday. I was curious what parts are interchangeable with other subarus?

Example:????
Engine parts same as WRX?

Exhaust same as?

Headlights same as?

This might make a good cross reference for all the other Baja folks that want to change or mod there cars.

Thanks,
James

Engine parts: FXT, STI share the same longblock so all things like pistons turbos, headers etc. will work

headlights-2000-2004 outback/legacy and jdm stuff like B4

the car is on the old legacy platform, so things that work on a previous gen. outback (suspension, brakes, wheels) will bolt right up to a baja

interior, andthing for a legacy, shifters are all teh same between 5 speed cars so a wrx short shifter will work on a baja.

any engine, trans, rear diff will bolt right in from across the line. (6 speed baja?)

its a subaru (AKA legos) so there are tons of things that are interchangable

You said brakes are same as previous gen outback... So could you use Brembos off WRX?

'04 STI brake/hub setup will work also -- 5x100, if you are grabbing a whole setup from a salvage yard -- The '05 STI has a different lug pattern --> 5x114

Seats are interchangable for 2000 forward. Not 100% sure about the new body '05+ Legacy but the '05 STI seats will fit.

'05 STI steering wheels DO NOT fit. I would venture a guess that steering wheels that are not 00-04 Legacy/Baja may not be an easy fit because of the connection to the clock spring on the steering column. Baja has a short wiring tail connected to the back of the airbag but the STI's wire from the clockspring plugs directly in to the back of the wheel.

KYB GR2s rear shocks for the 00-04 Legacy are too short for the Baja, you will ride on the bump stops.

I can't believe they went to 5x114. More wheels to pick from I guess. I would love to get a STI brake setup. I need to start looking for one.

Thanks for the help so far.

This topic has come up before. There was a list floating around, it's not complete, but a good place to start. Use search to find it.

stis switched over to the different bolt pattern when they got larger hubs, I guess it was a weak point on some 04s.

keep in mind, if you get the 04 sti brake setup you are also going to need wheels to clear those brakes. The bajas 6.5 inch wheels wont clear most big brake upgrades.

Smile Update - New question

Thought I would just put it under here, since it would help...

What intake and strut tower bars fit on the baja Turbo?

Default Struts

I have an 06' Baja and I'm having trouble finding compatible struts.
I have heard that the 01'-04' outback struts are the same, can anyone verify this for me?

00-04 Outback struts are quite close. A tiny bit shorter, but in a pinch, they will work. Stick the Baja springs on them and you might get lucky and retain your ride height, but you may lose some droop.
