You need a DP, although a full ext. would be better

Since the car is stock, I think you'd be making a huge mistake jumping right to that horsepower level. It sounds like you're aware of that...

Since you will need these parts to EVER hit that horsepower level anyways, I'd recommend a turbo-back exhaust, new uppipe, fuel pump, injectors, boost control solenoid, and then a professional tune. That will make MUCH more power than you have now, as well as being closer to your final goal. Talk to whoever will be tuning your car about what injectors to run now that will also suffice for your goal later.

Go with that, and then come back and talk to us when you get bored of it in a few months

You will most definitely, 100% need pistons. This isnt an if, its a sure thing. I would be suprised if it lasted more than a few weeks at that power level on stock pistons. May as well toss a set of mild cams in while you are at it.

Here is the mod list I would suggest.

TD05-20G 7cm
TurboXS 44mm EWG kit
TurboXS turboback high flow cat or catless. RFL axleback or magnaflow axlebakc depending what you want for sound.
TurboXS FMIC
Deatschwerks 750cc injectors
CP forged pistons
New water pump, timing belt, tensioner
TGV deletes
Port/polished stock exh manifolds -I can do it, or Grimmspeed, I wouldnt trust anyone other than either myself, themadscientist (who isnt doing porting for people right now) or Grimmspeed to do it.
Walbro pump
AEM alch injection kit
Stage 1 clutch
STI 6 speed tranny swap.

That will get you right about where you want to be, and compared to where you are now, the car will be terrifying.

Honestly, I dont recommend going to this setup right now. If you are stock, even going to an EVOIII-16G and a good TMIC will be a HUGE increase, and would likely pull harder than what you think 375whp would feel like. You are also looking at EASILY $10,000 to get to your 350-375whp level reliably.

If you dont have the $ for a 3076 then just go with a 20g on 100 oct

You have an 05 STI, he has an 05 WRX, what it will take to hit 375whp on his car is a LOT more than what it takes on your car. The engine and transmission mods alone will cost him easily 5k more than what you spent.

I dont mean to poop on your reply, but unfortunately your post couldnt be further from relevant to this discussion.

My bad thought he said he had an STI.

Anyways, go with a 20g if u got a wagon. We have one here in chicago pushing 375 on a stock block with 130k miles. 100 oct ftw. 5 Speed ftl

Its cool just read a little more in depth first in these threads.

BTW I hope you didnt take my reply to you as me being a dick, I dont mean it that way, but sometimed I tend to be a bit blunt and come off harsher than I mean.

I dont always translate well online

He will not have that stock block very long.... And the guy said he's going to be running pump gas 91-93, NOT 100 octane, so again that example is out the window.

Not to mention the HUGE power difference between 91-93 octane and 100 octane. Minimum 30whp. MINIMUM.

Also, I would question the validity of that dynos numbers. Unless he hasnt been doing it for long. And I would bet he wont be

I think you need to do A LOT of research. I dont want to sound rude, but you have no idea what you are getting yourself into. I have no idea what I would do if I was trying to put down the numbers you are, and I consider myself to have a good knowledge of stage 2 stuff.

Spend a few weeks researching and reading a lot of threads, and then tell us if you still want 375 whp.

This man speaks the truth. This is close to the route I've taken I guess and he is more than correct on the price. These things are not cheap and they will nickel and dime you into oblivion.

Might as well sell it and buy an STi. Seriously. Much better platform for that kind of horsepower. I think I'm headed that way within the next year or so - stage 2 and the gutless 1st gear just aren't doing it for me.

Plus I drove my friend's STI with an E85 Stg 2 tune, and it opened my eyes.

Nah, factory rods are forged and are good till somewhere around 400whp on the 2.0L. 500+whp on the 2.5.

'05 WRX dude. They aren't forged, and the op is looking for close to 400.

99.9% sure (its also 1:14am) WRX rods have always been forged. And Phil ran 368whp with a 50 shot on stock rods. OP wont have problems unless they have a BAD det event. Lots of guys made 400whp on the 2.0L blocks with nothing more than forged pistons. You have a bugeye, throw some pistons in it and kick the power way up, youll see

Having owned 2 different EJ205s, they are not forged.

And no need, I have a built 2.5 right now.
