The GR Yaris has a Corolla rear suspension setup, so presumably the GR Corolla will just retain its own suspension setup from back to front. Or they're just extending the GR Yaris to fit under the Corolla. I think physics dictates that the GR Corolla won't be as fun as the GR Yaris simply because of its mass, yet the Corolla is still appealing for lack of AWD performance hatchbacks.

![]() What are odds that it's a hybrid now, since WRC goes hybrid this year?
More unobtanium anyways... hopefully the Corolla doesn't suck, so I don't have to buy an STi when 2023 rolls around. |

There are ways. If the car is registered in Mexico, the only requirement is that it isn’t in the US for a year consecutively. That’s how a guy from Luxembourg brought his Defender 110 camper to tour the US for 6 months. He said as long as he didn’t keep the car here for a year, it was treated as a visitor. It had Luxembourg plates and everything. ![]() |

![]() So you’re saying I can buy one and just have it registered at my grandma’s old house in Mexico, and I can enjoy here in AZ as long as I park it at her place for a weekend a year?

If you have Mexican citizenship, this is a lot easier. If you are a US citizen, you will probably have to register it in grandma’s name. |

![]() You have to actually do temporary import paperwork each time, or that's how it normally works anyhow. But yes, if you're OK with shipping the car in and out every year to do it, you can bring cars in for special purpose that way. Usually some additional requirements around mileage, etc.

![]() I can't believe they are limiting this to 500 and only in Japan. Going to be like the next 22B.

I’m trying to work out a 12-24 month rotation in Japan. It would be down to shoehorning the 3 of us into a GR4 or buying a GC8/GF8 STI to import after my rotation. |

![]() Wonder if Toyota would be integrating some form of hybrid powertrain for a (future) GR Corolla to have some tenuous association with their ongoing WRC involvement as 2022 marks the beginning of the hybrid era for WRC since there's more space with the Corolla platform.
