Default How to clean interior roof / ceiling liner?

Hi,

I recently bought a 2006 wrx wagon (3rd owner); most of the interior is fairly clean already actually, but the roof (ceiling?) liner has some dirt streaks / black marks on it. What would be a good way of removing the streaks neatly?

Also what do you recommend for cleaning the seats? After cleaning the seats I was going to use Scotchguard on the interior ... is that a good idea?

Thank you!

id say just use some soapy water on a rag.... just make sure the rag isn't SOAKED but just damp
and go at the marks, that's what i did and it seemed to work

as for cleaning the seats.. remove them completely, easy to do they just unbolt. then use a carpet steamer, (such as a rug doctor from the grocery store)

Just black out the interior. When finished it looks better than new! Plus the wagon headliner comes out really easy.

Take a damp sponge and all purpose cleaner and go over your headliner lightly. Don't get it soaked. You can do the same thing on your seats. I have never used scotch guard but after cleaning your seats a protection product is always a great idea because it will prevent more stains and dirt settling.

I've used 3M Scotch guard. Clean the surface you plan on protecting really well before applying this stuff. Keep in mind when it first goes on there will be a really strong smell so do not spray with ppl in the car. You also have to let it dry & yes the smell will linger unless you use your fingers to open up a Black Ice tree. I feel it does work on fabric having a toddler who loves to play toss the milk bottle. Has yet to stain & I've only applied it a few times since i've leased the car, 08 Highlander sport lease ends next month.
