The problem isn't running up the score. The tournament is structured for potential tie-breakers. What the problem is, is celebrating your 9th goal like it is your first. It shows lack of respect for your opponent and just looks bad. As for the Michael Phelps analogy, he is in an individual sport with individual accomplishments. It's apples and oranges.

Meh, some of them, well Lavelle(sp) scored their first and second goal at the World Cup. Perhaps they were just happy to be scoring considering the games they played eariier this year and lost. Let us see how they perform in their second match after feasting on the minnow in the group. The other teams get to play the minnow too.

Gold Cup - That Haiti v Costa Rica match last night was really enjoyable to watch.

Copa America - I was surprised to see Japan hold their own in their last two matches as their goal for this tournament was to test out their U-23 team for next year's Olympics. Kubo, who just got signed by Real Madrid, ended up showing his potential in the last match. Kind of excited for that fella.

Women's World Cup - I watched the second half of that England v Cameroon match..what a **** show!

I can't believe all three tournament finals are scheduled for July 7 .
Women's World Cup - 11AM EST
Copa America - 4PM EST
Gold Cup - 9PM EST

I’m celebrating today in Montevideo with a bunch of very happy Uruguayos after a 1-0 victory last night over Chile

I really enjoyed that match. France almost came back, but I loved the way US played keep away during stoppage time.

Yeah. Good game. Thought it should have been 3-1. The offsides call was bad. Thought France got some home cooking on some calls but we're lucky they didn't call a hand ball in the box. Should have been a pk. They've called that all tournament

I wish they would zoom into the offside calls like they do with goal line technology. The way they do it now seems looks like they took a screenshot of Goole Maps satellite view.

Surprised to see the German women lose. Wish Costa Rica could have finished off the Mexican men in pk's.

I'm ok with the offside images it shows whether they were on or off

USMNT should have blown out that match. I'm assuming that yesterday's starting 11 are being primed for the final against Mexico. With that kind of play, good luck.

There is probably something politically incorrect about it, but my wife was thoroughly amused at the USA and England dominating a competition in France, and that Germany lost and has to retreat.

Won't even get past Jamaica playing like that. Did I ever state I don't like Bradley?

Anyone that lost to T&T and was over 29 should not be playing anymore. Give it to the kids.

Passing was messy and excessive last night.

Who's really next in line to replace him as Captain? I just don't see Trapp being that guy.

I'd nominate Pulisic, who has been captain before. He's got the talent to spark life into the team, connects well with younger generation, already has experiences in big games.

On a separate note, I rarely focus on how Bradley plays but what I remember about him is he slows down the team as he tries to get that nice long pass out so by the time the pass gets there, the opposition is ready. It's not him setting the pace of the game, he's just slow. Am I wrong?

I'd nominate him too, though I think Tyler Adams will own it if he makes his mark at RBL and stays healthy. But the way Berhalter is playing the Bundesliga guys, it's like they're playing their own game separate from the MLS guys.

Lots of fouls late on the game doomed them

Definitely a good game. Sad to see England fall apart at the end and just start hacking at ankles.
