I just put in my order for a WRB WRX Limited. Wahoo! It's happening!

Got a screaming deal from Liberty Subaru. Put the info in the spreadsheet.

If you like the gray and don't need the STI wing and/or Brembos, I'd say go with the WRX.
I think the gas mileage will be a huge factor as this will be my DD until I get another DD I can rely on.

That's my plan, to keep it cosmetically stock. Maybe transfer over my third brake light i have on my 17 WRX and vortex generator. I would like to add an intake and axle back and get lowering springs. I would love the brembos, not so much of the wing, but if the price is right. I will go for the WRX.

That was one the biggest gripes I had with the WRX is that it pulls hard in the low rpms, but putters out at the top end. Also the handling is completely different. With the STi having hydraulic steering, I gives the car a lot heavier steering wheel but gives you so much more feel of the road. The WRX streeting is not bad by any means, the STi is just better, in my opinion. Also the rack is a bit quicker then on the WRX. The first couple of days making turns that I do every day, like coming out of my neighborhood, the car would be pointed towards the curb based on muscle memory.

Also I can't remember if the series gray has the STi short throw shifter in it or not. But the shifter feel in the WRX and the STi are nothing a like. I had a shift stop and brass bushing thrown in a week after buying the car and took them out a couple days before I picked up the new car. I forgot how bad it was. Just something to think about because you'll be shifting all the time when your driving the car.

After pulling off the lot, I knew I made the right choice. But that just my 2 cents. And remember, at the end of the day it's YOUR car.
I test drove a 17 limited STI and I fell in love with it. I had a 03 WRX and the rumble reminded me of it. After getting back into my 17 WRX, it felt different.. I have the shift stop and brass currently.

Thanks guys, I needed this input! I'll update you guys if I get an STI or Series.Gray edition.

I would've been more interested in the series gray if the body color wasn't so darn fuggly.

I would've liked ISM (which makes these cars look like a grayish blob on the ground, bland as hell) over the "cool gray khaki" of the series gray. First thing I would've done to it had I gotten one was get it repainted.

Picked up my WRX today! Had 4 miles on it when I took delivery! Just got it home, peeled off the plastic, put in my Pro Clip cell mount and JDM console extension and went for a nice drive! The break in period is kinda out the window for me, I had to downshift going uphill and kinda panicked and floored it in 2nd. Only stalled it once though but do have a few bumpy starts and shifts. Haven't driven a stick in 15 years! I did get it off the lot without embarrassing myself though. I got the Limited with the HK sound system. I do have a few questions, how do I get my phone to do just regular bluetooth audio? I don't see an option for it anywhere and my phone is synced to the car. Also for anyone with an android, can you not use the phone when android auto is running? That's annoying as hell if that's the case.

Last question, I thought I had like sport mode thing that adjust the gas pedal response, can't seem to find it with all the stuff i'm messing with. I'm sure the info is in book but I haven't had time yet to go through it.

The throttle response thing is SI drive which is on the CVT version of the WRX. You dont get that in the manual in the WRX.

The car looks good! I got the same one and I love it!

I'm not near my car, but playing music through bluetooth is done through a button on the main display of the head unit. I think it's called "Media". I have an iPhone so it might be different with Android, but if I have the phone plugged into the cord to connect for Apple Car Play, it won't allow the phone to play through bluetooth. I also think that Apple is the same way where the phone can't be used while it's connect for Apple Car Play. It just shows a screen on the phone that says, "Apple Car Play Connected", or something along those lines.

One thing I've been trying to figure out is if there is a quick way to make the display on the head unit turn off. The only way I've found is by going into settings and then selecting the option to turn off the display. On the old head unit, if you pressed and held the the volume knob it would turn off the display, but keep playing music. This seems like a handy feature at night so you don't have to fumble through settings menus to turn the display off.
