Default 2015-2017 WRX OEM STI lip on 2018 WRX?

I’ve googled and searched here, so forgive me if I missed something. I just learned the hard way the Seibon CF lip won’t fit on my 2018 WRX. Does the 2015-2017 OEM STi lip fit on 2018 WRX?

E2410VA000 is listed as 2015-2017
E2410VA030 is listed as 2015-2018, a refreshed and retrofitted lip for previous years?

I’m looking to install a 2015-2017 OEM lip with a local guy and wanted to see if anyone has made this work. I’ve seen plenty of videos for aftermarket lips but nothing on OEM lips. Thanks in advance.

It will with modification - see follow-up posts from others below.

The 2018 bumper cover is slightly wider where it curves at the front corners.

*******

The OEM 2018 lip will fit a 2015-2017, but there will be a gap at each front corner. I installed one last summer 2017.

*******

I checked SOA's parts look-up and the E2410VA000 is for 2015 to 2017 and the E2410VA030 is for 2018 (presumably 2019 as well).

*******

The 2015-2017 bumper is slightly 'rounded' or 'shorter' or 'less pronounced' than the 2018+, which is a bit more 'square' comparatively.

Interesting... I was under the impression that lips would fit all 2015-2018 bumpers because the shape of the bottom is the same.

I thought that too...

Anyone have pictures of this attempted install? I'd like to see how different it is.

After researching it further based on the info in this thread they do not fit. I *think* the 2018 lip would fit on a 2015-2017 but not vice versa. It’s due to where the “fangs” of the 2018 bumper jut out. You can technically fit a 2015-2017 lip on an 18 but there’s a gap at the fangs.

Most people who do the lip install just drill it underneath but the technical details are weather or not it truly hugs the bumper outline.

It actually does fit with minor modification to the lip. Very easy to do and all you need is sandpaper.

That curvature (marked in red) that would have to be shaved flat so that its no protruding. The yellow marker is a guesstimate of where the lip will contact with the bumper so you kinda have to eyeball it. You will need to shave a little then test fit over and over till it sits properly. I hope that isn't too confusing lol.

Note that this is with the Bayson R brand lip (Ebay/ Amazon). I've noticed that the authentic OEM lips dont have the curvatures so those might actually bolt on with little to no modification if you're willing to spend the 400+.

Thanks for sharing that. There is still a gap on the 2018 when installing that lip so it’s possible the sanding that portion off would make it fit the bumper tighter.

Are you guys aware of any other 2015-2017 lip that will fit on the 2018?

I just installed a 2015-17 oem lip today. It was not 100% perfect but after drilling and drilling by the wheel well and inserting clips it looks pretty sweet. There is a small gap on each side I may put weatherstripping in between if it ever bothers me. So far so good though. I was a little rough and scratched a tiny little bit of the wheel well be careful.

Just thought I'd echo what a couple other users have said. Some sanding to the lip is all you need to make it for. Take your time and take a little off at a time and keep test fitting. The 2015-2017 style looks way better IMO and I have no gaps
