It's called a Nitrous kit, not Nos or NAWZ.
NOS is a company that specializes in nitrous the same way Zex is. Poll says no. There are better, less destructive and more legal ways to mod the car. |

Nitrous kit... heh, you have got to be kidding.
Get a rear sway or something. Heck, for $900 you can get an exhaust and some sitcky tires... AND a RSB. If you wanted to just go fast straight and that's it, you shouldn't have gotten a Subaru. |

ive been wanting to put nos on my car as well, but unless ur seroius about racing and stuff i would spend it on other stuff, like suspension, tires, exhaust, intake. although u would get huge bragging rights and have alot of fun with it.

well first of all, what mods do you have? i would only get that if you have some nice forged aftermarket pistons first, then go with a 75 or 100shot.

a nice way to think of it is "each time you spray it be ready to pay for it" Because when that motor blows your SOL, dont think some magic you can warranty it and new motors are not cheap
take the money buy some springs and rims, and take the rest to a titty bar and have some fun |

I have dabbled in n20, and can say that unless you are retarded, your engine wont be seriously harmed. that means running a safe shot level, and accomidating the timing number when spraying.
$900 for a zex kit is terrible. look to pay $450 max on a good wet kit, and installation is super easy. check out Nitrousworks |

well than if you did that stuff already you should go find a rs that is very done up and give it a whirl...
i did and honestly it really did nothing for me, so its not worth all the extra money for what little you get, specially how unsafe it will be for oyu keep in mind having nitrous on the street is illegal |

No way man!
I had an N/X wet 50 shot kit on my RS for about 2 weeks. The install isn't to bad but the power you gain is not worth it. Do not expect to start beating WRX's with it. Not to mention that after having it on the car for a few weeks it seemed like my engine began making strange noises which freaked me out. So I took the kit off the car, returned it and got my $350 back. I turned around and spent $450 on new headers and custom 2.5" exhaust. I already had an Injen CAI and I honestly believe that the power added from the headers/exhaust was equal or more of a gain than the nitrous gave me. And now with the CAI, headers, exhaust and a tune by Enginuity I have MUCH more power than the nitrous ever gave me. I have it at all times without having to hit a button and I don't worry about my engine blowing. There are much wiser ways to spend your money. I say avoid going the nitrous route. |

N20 is meant for drag cars, that take 100hp+ shots. Not really meant for our cars, since they wont handle much. |

You, Sir, have just created the best quote in NASIOC history. And to add some actual content... for that amount of money, the OP could do TWE SuperStreet headers or Delta cams with professional install. Either of which would likely make him faster in the real world than the bottle. Last edited by williaty; 01-21-2008 at 02:23 AM. |

If you were to put nos on your car, the only safe way is to put a direct port system. Because of the way our intake manifolds are designed, it is not safe to run any other nos system. There is way too much piping in our intake manifold to make the fuel and nos distribute evenly between all four cylinders. Some of the fuel will stick to the walls and lean the car out making it unsafe.

Get the TWE headers and a nice header back system like a stromung... wont get you 50 hp, but will get you reliable power and torque especially, through out the powerband. AND you can have it for the next 200K miles or more if you take care of your car instead of the next 10K when you turn those pistons into donuts. But if you get the N2O, post it, i wanna see.

And yes, the headers, exhaust, intake and a good tune EASILY put 50 HP to the crank. Argue all you want to. But in the link below you will see dyno proven results demonstrating that an intake ALONE can add 10WHP and 10.9lb-ft of torque. And these tests were done on a 2.2 Liter. Now imagine pairing the intake with larger headers/exhaust all tuned to work together on a 2.5 Liter. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=706723 There is absolutely do doubt in my mind that the current setup is faster than with the 50 shot. A friend of mines gave 75 shot on his 06 2.5i he did 13.8 on quarter mile with catback and intake. He later turbo his car an put low compression pistons. No problem with the car when on N2O.
