Nevermind, call me on Monday, I'm not really close to Providence but I'm sure we can help you out if you can't find someplace closer. Then again if it is just suspension another member who is closer can probably help you fix it.

Well the front springs weren't compressed correctly so they make terrible noises when I turn the wheel and the lower rubber seat on the rear struts were completely left out and who knows if those were done right either. I let a friend of mine do it because he said he knew how but he obviously didn't. Also the threading on one of my new struts got ruined so i had to order a new one. Huge pain in the butt so I just want my car done correctly this time and not half assed.
thanks for the responses so far. Kyle |

good dealers/tuners in RI, MA, CT area?
I have had pretty bad luck dealing with dealers in the RI dealer because I have modified suspension on my car. My STi V5 suspension wasnt installed correctly so I was looking for a place that could help me out as close to Providence as possible cause thats where I go to school. thanks for the help everyone.

Hmmm... Do you know if they took the brake lines out by slotting the brake line holders?
If there's no cutting involved, I may be of service... --KC |

They were probably compressed fine, however without an air impact gun or an "o" ratchet you can't get the strut tops tight enough.
The threading can probably be repaired if it wasn't mangled too bad, anyone with a good metric Tap & Die set can fix it. If you slotted the brake line holders on the struts that makes life much easier. If not and you are careful with either a hack saw or a grinding wheel you can slot them without disconnecting the lines. Hey Drew (Pilot),
What exit are you off of in CONN? Easier to get to from RT15 or I95? Do you do flywheel installs? I'm in RI but willing to drive to get competent, competitive service. Wilkey |

Ginseng,
Just off exit 21 I95. Call me Monday (I'm usually in around 9-9:30) and tell me what you've got so I can figure out labor times/prices and scheduling. -Drew |

yes the brake lines were cut, but the dealer told me that I would need to order a new strut because of the threading problem. He said something about the strut cracking because the threading wasn't done correctly and the nut that was put on the top wasn't right. I dont know its a pretty long story but the strut that was put on before the V5 by the original owner was stripped into oblivion so he had top put on a new one that wasn't threading properly. I hope Im making sense to you guys because it is quite a mess! Thanks for the responses!

Sounds like something I would have to see (the strut I mean), however KC should be able to help you out with the rest, and if you have ordered a new strut anyway then it makes no sense to drive all the way out here.
Still; call if you need assistance. |
