Default Double Din DVD w/ the best Ipod capabilities

I've attempted to find this information with no luck. For those that have had experience with different models, which company has the best Ipod integration set up. I'm looking for a double din DVD player, but most of the time I will be using the Ipod. No need for Nav, it's going in an 06 WRX TR.

Thanks for the help.

The best that I have experience with so far is the newer pioneer units that use the ipod direct plug. it works pretty quickly and is easy to navigate.

I've also heard that the alpine and kenwood units are pretty nice as well.

i have the alpine W205, it pretty nice for the ipod, only has one downfall, if you pick a song in a folder like you do on your ipod, then you want to listen to a song from say two folders down, you have to go all the way through the menus again to get to that second folder, not like on the ipod where you can just hit menu and go back up. other than that, its amazing, very quick through the menus, and it has digital sound processing, so the SQ is amazing. its also the best picture ive seen from a double din unit, and you can go online to set a custom sound curve on the equalizer, so while it doesnt have that in the deck, its still available, along with time correction.

I have an Avicd3 and the ipod control is great plus its navigation. It also doesnt have the problem the alpine does in regards to picking a song in a folder than going back. It stays on the same letter. Plus it scrolls fast. Great radio imo

125% agree on AVIC D-3---I use the I-pod to handle my 6,000 songs and then the XM when I get bored of that.

If your thrifty, you can get one very cheap and still brand new.

I paid $750, not to include all the extra goodies.

The alpine W200 and W205 do have the fastest connection via the full-speed cable but the drawback is, just like previously said, once you chose a song you cannot go back you need to go back to the main menu. another option thats very nice is the avic-d3. it is a really nice unit plus its very affordible navigation in comparison to their previous units that were much more expensive (i.e the D2 and the N3 of last year) but if you dont need the navigation then id recomend the alpine personally.

The Clarion unit is one of the easiest to use , you have to touch the iPod to get your videos to play.

The Kenwood is the ONLY one to be able to access the videos from the screen without touching the iPod. But, it has a PND style navi which looks like butt.

The Pioneer is ok, nothing special, D3 is a single disc unit that requires you to stop navi if you want to listen to a CD or watch a DVD.

Alpine is nice, but the folder navigation is kinda goofy.

BUT, here is the ultimate deal killer for all. If you have a new iPod nano video or touch, you CAN NOT USE THE VIDEO PORTION because none of the mentioned units have the new authentication IC to allow video to be passed.
