That's one thing we discussed: The kid ****ed up, big time. From our perspective he needs to absolutely pay for what he did. But from his perspective, a night of fun and good times, accompanied with bad decision making has resulted in something tragic he's going to have to live with for the rest of his now miserable life.

So because he has to live with killing two innocent people who were not jaywalking he should somehow get "less" of a punishment?

The kid doesn't even care. Even after the accident he was still lying about being the driver and was too busy crying about his dog bites to care about the two lives he just cut short.

He's a dirtbag! Unfortunately he'll probably do little or no time for what he did. We live in a sad society. Someone does less time in jail for beating someone to death in Stanley Park than the the penalty for copying a dvd. Conrad Black and Martha Stewart get stiffer penalties! The justice system is joke.

I can't believe the kid tried to swim away trying to run away from his responsibilities... there needs to be harsher punishments to these kind of people

here's a facebook photo of the kid.
He doesn't look like the type that will like jail...

Quite a few charges that night too. There's no way he'll be getting off easy.

Send him to gitmo! It's really unfortunate that even though he's got quite a few charges he'll probably get off on a misdemeanor charge and maybe manslaughter. We're talking maybe 6 years eligible for parole after 2.

Why is it that people like this get off with so little jail time in Canada?

Whoa. I just found out that I went to highschool with that guy. We were supposed to be in the same grade too but he was held back; so when everyone else graduated last school year, he had just completed gr.11. I hope this guy and all others who drink and drive get the punishment that they deserve.

You went to Gladstone? That's my old H.S. Read in The Province today, he works wknds at XSCargo on Grandview Hwy. He also claims to be a faithful Christian on FB and was thanking god for something or other. Then theres pictures of him with MJ plants, a knife or machete in another and lastly the pic that Hypa posted up. Apparently a friend wrote on his wall, something like "Dude, I thought you were turning your life around" or something. He also was the winner of the 2008 International Auto Show "VIP kart days".

Wow, when did you get a time machine that tells you what's going to happen at his sentencing that hasn't even taken place yet?

And where can I get one?

I'll go halfers on it with you if you let me go back and slap some sense into myself about seven-eight years ago?

Edit-

That kid looks like a chode.

I guess we did go a little off topic there. Sorry James. How was the funeral? I assume that it was quite emotional for all who attended.
