Default Tough to get intake cover back on?

I opened up the intake box to take a look at the stock filter and had a bitch of a time getting the cover back on.

Is there a trick I'm missing?

I mainly had a problem getting the right tab in (looking across engine bay from the right fender) once I got that on it finally slid into place. It took some swearing at it, though.

Anyone else have this problem?

I've found that it's easier to put the filter in the top, i.e. in the cover, and then slide in the tabs and pop it down. It still takes some finessing, but it's a whole lot easier IMHO.

cnk,

That looks like the trick I was looking for.

Thanks! I'll let you know if it works.

Default air filter

No matter what you do, the s.o.b. is just not that easy to put back on. Don't get frustrated, work slowly, and all of a sudden everything falls in place.
Just don't go through all that disconnecting everything and taking the filter box out to replace the filter crap like K&N suggests.

i have to disagree with the last comment about not taking out the filter box. this is much MUCH EASIER. this is only two or three screws and it pops right on and then screw it back down. it will take five minutes. when you take the box out it allows you to get the angle that you need to get the top back on and it slides right into place.
