Default Goodbye all

Not sure if anyone actually cares about goodbyes on forums, but whatever.

It's been a fun few years forum'ing with all of you. I no longer have my STI, picked up a John Cooper Works Mini. I'll stay on the forums for a while to offload some parts, they'll be in the Tri-State forums. Extra set of wheels and such.

Unlike some other goodbyes ive seen where they try to get you to care they leave because they're upset, this is not. Just figured it would be polite.

Bye and thanks for your contributions as a member. I personally like the cooper works edition a lot but they're a little pricey. Hope you enjoy it and good luck to you.

Thats funny, I just recently went from a 2009 Cooper S to the WRX. Man that S was a turd. First of all, you have to get the valves walnut blasted every 30K to remove carbon deposits. Mine was at the dealer twice a month for all kinds of things, from a warped hood scoop to the turbo oil line leaking. Also, because the exhaust exits in the middle of the rear, you lose your spare tire. Because you lose your spare tire you have run flat tires, which SUCK. Also, if Subaru interior rattles bother you, the mini will drive you crazy.

We traded that S in for a base model non-turbo mini for my wife, it's a much better car.

But hey, maybe yours will be different. Good luck!

Good luck! A jcw crackled, popped and banged past me the other day. It was really awesome sounding.

Minis, only driven a base Cooper 1.6 when they first were out, seem like a lot of fun, but I'd never be allowed to buy something that small.

Have fun!

Later.

But actually just because you sold the car doesn't mean you have to leave the forums. I sold my Miata last year and still troll miata.net forum regularly. There are tons of things to talk about besides the car in question. And of course some day I might buy another Miata. So you never know!

NASIOC is practically a general car forum these days. I frequented the place after selling my '02 WRX wagon. But as others mentioned, you'll be back. I now have a '13 WRX wagon (well, hatchback...).

I hear you OP, sometimes you just need a change. I have no hate for Subaru either since getting rid of my 2012 STI Limited. It was a good car, just never handled like my old 2008 Evo X GSR...even with new sway bars & end links, and it didn't have the extra comfort I was looking for originally (hence why I got the Limited).

I'm very pleased with my new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 with it's awesome 8 sp tranny. Plus it has comfort that rivals my girlfriends 3 series BMW.

These are all problems I had with my '04 MCS (minus the turbo problems) Disappointing to see they still had these problems in '09.

The walnut blasting is a big problem for any turbo car that has direct injection. I walnut blast bmw's weekly. Which why in glad for two things: my wife's car is just a lowly 328i and the subies are still port injection.

You will be back.

Enjoy your midlife crisis car, you should have just gotten a Miata.
Kidding,

Didn't expect nor was I searching for anyone's approval, I'll happily go about my day knowing I still drive a nice car.

And just because I know it'll make those same people who said "who are you?" get their panties in a twist if I post a review of the JCW, I'll do that too.
