Default (New Member) My First Subaru: 2000 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon

Hi everyone I've been a lurker on here for a few years now, but never really posted anything because I didn't exactly own a Subaru until recently!

What I have here is an STi swapped 2000 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon This car popped up for sale late last year in Calgary, and I just had to buy it because I've always wanted a Legacy Wagon with an STi powerplant for the longest time. The wagon only had 110,xxx kms on the chassis, and 58,xxx kms on the motor. Rumor has it that the motor was pulled out of a brand new '05 STi with only 15 kms on it, before a lot boy totaled it

Long story short, I drove 12 hours to Calgary in the November blizzard in my B18C5 swapped '93 Honda Integra on a Friday, traded that car with this one (with cash on top, of course lol), and drove this Subie back to Vancouver on the Sunday. It only took me 8 hours to get back to Vancouver, even though the road condition was more or less the same as when I was heading to Calgary! The 4WD and the STi motor did wonders!

Here is a mod list of this car, parts I've added to it (in bold), and some plans I have for this car in the future!

The wagon when I first got it 6 months ago:

The wagon already came with most of the knick knacks on it, but the previous owner(s) haven't exactly taken a good care of the car, and the footwork really showed it. Blown Cusco coilovers, mismatched ball joints, ripped CV joints, and many more =(

Since then, I've added a few more parts on to the car (mostly suspension parts), and I'm planning to do a few more things to it this year!

Here are some photos of the car after I've gotten my hands on it these last 6 months

I ordered a set of wheels for the car as well, which took 4 months to arrive in total lol but they finally came in a few weeks ago, so I decided to throw them on and take some quick pics!

And what's sitting under that fully faded, Works Bell Carbon Fiber Hood..

Engine bay is still dirty, but I plan on cleaning it up when I do engine upgrades within the next month or two!

Anyway, I just thought I'd introduce myself, and my car, and I hope that I'd get a chance to meet a lot of the members on here soon! I've always been a Honda guy, and this is my first Subaru, so I'm totally new to the game! I hope I will be able to learn from all of you as I continue to put more work on my wagon!

Here are a few pics of my previous project cars:

(2002-2009) 1990 Honda Accord with H22A4 swap, full wire tuck, full spherical bearings to replace suspension bushings, custom chassis reinforcement braces, Wilwood Superlite Big Brake Kit, 17x9" +20 Work Meister S1, one off Greddy front lip, few weight reduction parts that brought the curb weight down to 2,750lbs with me in it..

(2010-2012) 1993 Track-prepped Honda Prelude with JDM F20B swap w/ bolt-ons, Quaife LSD, MFactory 4.64FD, tuned to 200whp and 165 ft/lbs, full wire tuck, custom BC Racing Coilovers with 18kg/mm Front & 12kg/mm Rear spring rates with short stroke, 27mm Rear sway bar, 17x8.5" Volk Racing TE37 running 245/40/17 tires up front, Chargespeed front lip, Recaro SPA Carbon Kevlar bucket seat, A bunch of carbon parts that brought the curb weight down to 2,500lbs with me in it..

Thanks for looking everyone, and hope I can make some good contributions to the NASIOC VIC community!

Got a pic of the Spec C seats?

I see an OMP bucket and standard STI seat in the pics.

You need to replace the Impreza pink badge with this.

I wish I have the Spec C seats! I believe you were looking at the "Future Build" List haha my apologies, I put the Future Build List directly below the current mods list! I have been trying to find a set of those seats, but no luck so far..I'm not even sure if I'll ever be able to find one! Perhaps one day

I love driving it! It may not be the quickest car around tighter corners, but overall it's still a blast to drive

Haha yes! I've actually found a Zero Sports front grille to replace this one..I've always thought the current chrome trim front grille is a little bit out of place for this wagon!

Hey man, thanks, it was nice meeting you as well! And yeah I know what you mean haha I can do an H22A swap with my eyes closed, but right now I don't even want to change out my intake manifold on the Subie with the PnP one I have in the garage because I'm scared I might screw something up lol! I feel like such a n00b with these Subies it's almost embarassing! Oh well, hopefully I can learn as I go along without messing up too many things!

Yeh i know what u mean, every component used r identical its just that were not too sure if there r other extra steps with removal/installation of parts... What i dont really like is how subies dont have a dizzy, its just so much easier to adjust and diagnose timing from there.. Also how the engine bay is super packed vs honda where theres so much room lol

Haha yes I'm in the area a lot, my girlfriend lives in Coquitlam Thanks for the kind words! I haven't gotten a chance to wash the car this week, so it's pretty filthy right now lol..

Haha yeah I know what you mean, Hondas are just so easy to work with! But that's ok, I think once I get used to the layout of the Subie's engine bay, I'll do just fine..I'm already used to its suspension and brake setup haha

Haha thanks bro! Car definitely still needs a bit of work here and there, both maintenance and upgrades, before I can be completely happy with it, but it's a work in progress! Which parts did you buy from me last time?

I remember seeing this wagon on CL last year. I've also read your build thread on your BB4, so if you're gonna put the same amount of attention on this legacy as you did with your prelude...VIC is going to be in for a treat! I can see this making Top Scoob in the future
