Damn even like that the Colorado is ugly. Anything with a bowtie on it is just butt ugly.

Some of us were kids when the movie came out, rabid bmx people, and actually paid to see Cru Jones in the theater Although we walked as none of us would risk parking our modded bicycles outside. RS, Leaf DD, and a few highly modified sportbikes, which are my passion before and more important than my cars. Unfortunately I cannot afford the cars I'd like in my garage. If I made what you do, in my garage would be a R35, GT350, Ridgeline, and Model 3 DD. Bikes, I'd still have what I have now and only add a 1299S or 1199R, and find a RC45. Need to finish that MBA in Finance and work on that but I think my garage is locked for ten years or more. I'm actually burnt out on buying vehicles. |

I like bikes. Like to wrench because their easy but there is something in my head that shuts down and can't stay in it. It's now starting in the cars too, guess I'm just old now or maybe not as stupid. Back road other day nice sweeper I always like see how much more ai can push it, now I'm scared of deer crept through.
I've been thinking of getting an electric car for my morning coffee/paper/park run every morning I can get by on one charge easy. Not to many leafs around here used so it's on the back burner. Yeah I get burnt too. It's not the car it's the cost of insurance on stuff that doesn't even move during policy period. Oil drained that wasn't even used, just threw out 4 exspensive tires off my Judge clone, I was scared they where shot from sitting, is it worth it to have rear let go from dry rot when the front end is four inches off the ground. But soon as I drop the insurance A. you want to drive it lol B. It's a pain in the long run, classic tags lose lifetime registration etc, plus if something does happen. Start dropping 30 40 K every six on stuff sitting it gets old. Last edited by AVANTI R5; 06-16-2017 at 07:24 AM. |

I hear you Avanti....my monthly insurance bill is enough that it equals a car payment (Accord or something, not P-car money). I argue with my broker (insurance broker) that the bikes are weekend use only, the 2nd car gets driven 300-400 miles a month, my work commute is less than 5 miles and I don't work in the office every day (wfh half the time), no dice. I should go to comp/collision only on my bikes but I just can't bring myself to do it and combined they run me what a car costs per month for insurance. What's chaps my ass is the cars. I'm basically paying full price for both. Pisses me off but if I swap companies, I get on homeowners. I mean I've got my bikes solved, to a point. If I trade one of them, add a new one, basically make a single move, all that gets jacked so I'm locked up there. I'm getting a really good deal for my state so I cannot buy that Ducati 1299ss it would double my bike insurance monthly cost.
Yeah first world problems but I hate paying full price on insurance for stuff that sits for 6 days a week. I pay on all of them like I use them everyday. Insurance is a racket. The bikes go up on stands so both tires are off the ground, so they can sit unaffected. Electric is nice for local runs only. I use it for work, gym, groceries, and errands. Oh and to weed out the Dallas women gold diggers. But that's easy here. Them types are only interested in BMW, Audi, Lexus, Infinity type badges. Hot hatches, well you might as well work at Subway to them |

Rad was awesome - I was a BMX freak myself. Last bike was a PK Ripper, profile cranks, bullseye hubs, Hutch beartrap pedals, Patterson bars, etc. Those were the days.

I finally retired my 20" bikes and got a "grown up" bike to ride with him. I don't need to break any bones at the local park... We honestly wore out our VHS copy of Rad back in the day. Oh and one of the first tricks I showed him was a scurfer. Last edited by DJ 9iron; 06-16-2017 at 12:29 PM. |

I remember the last time I saw Tony Hawk here. Mid 90's I still skated while in college. Just light stuff on the pipe. Tony comes to town for a demo thing. Does like 12 McTwists in a row. He gets done, and they have a chair for him to sit in and sign stuff, shake hands. Not a single person or kid comes up. Myself and the girlfriend felt bad for him, it was embarrassing, so we walked up, shake hands, gf got her little brother an autograph. F'in Dallas. He would have been mobbed in other cities. |

When I was at Woodward back in 96, I shook hands with The Boss because no one knew who the hell he was or if they did, they wanted a handout. I walked up and said how about a handshake? It was awesome.

Man, I wish Netflix streamed Rad.
My youngest son recently got in to bmx--he has a neon orange Haro with neon green Odi grips that he loves. I have few acres and he'd rather ride his bike around the house and neighborhood more than his KX65. It builds great skill on two wheels too. I have a buddy that is an ex-pro, and there is excellent mountain biking where I live. Dude can shred down the gnarliest trails on a long travel HT about as fast as I can on a FS. Oh, and I really like that Colorado. |
