Default solved boosting problem

I took out my manual boost controller and after that I cannot get over .5 bar. I solved this problem by realizing that I had switched the hose to the wastegate with the turbo nipple hose. I find this puzzling because I can't figure out what's so different about the two hoses other then the length which I don't think should matter. Does anyone know the answer to this?

Inside one of the little hoses is a tiny brass restrictor. This restrictor hose is supposed to go from the turbo compressor to the plastic T. Without that hose and restrictor in place, the turbo won't boost past .5 bar.

Consider yourself lucky that it worked, I had to replace my boost solenoid to get my car to make boost again..cost me $115 to replace

is there a website where I can read about how the stock solenoid system works? Like how the brass restrictor allows higher boost and whatnot.
