haha you overlooked getting this as well .....did you atleast remember to get the power steering lines beforehand? Hopefully you can find a cheap used resevoir....otherwise you are gonna pay $70ish for a new one like this sucker did.

Man yesterday pissed me off.

**NOTE** He needs the reservoir not the pump.

Yea no reservoir.

The lines came with the engine luckily.

The 04 WRX tranny has a stud in the bell housing going to the engine. The 03 WRX engine has a stud in there as well in the same location. Had to take 3 hours to get the tranny off again and drill that sucker out.

Vu. You still need a trailing arm nut and bolt. Donít forget that one.

Lachute Subaru - "we are sending you everything, all you need is the stock airbox, and the maf senser"

me - "ok"

turns out, i'm missing a power steering reservoir, fuel pump controller, and God knows what else when i get everything in place. . . this is exactly why i went to lachute and not other vendors for a wrx driveline. . . i didnt want to deal with sourcing missing parts. . . well. . guess not.

so please, anybody with a power steering reservoir, let me know. thanks.

If you order it new it comes with the cap, so donít order it separateÖ and on that note, I have a cap if you get one used which doesnít have it

Also, donít start the motor without fluid running the pump otherwise youíll burn it up. I too sat around waiting for my reservoir and ran both lines into a bottle of power steering fluid. A little make-shift but at least you can start and run the motor and continue with the swap without burning the pump.

Howís it going by the way?

we've only worked 2 Friday nights, on saturday night, and 2 sundays on the car, with a lot of fooling around. but so far we've gotten most of the WRX on the car except the front axels, and the driveshaft.

wiring hasnt started, other than the fact that i've hacked the wrx harness that i have already so it is engine standalone whatever. still dont know if i did it right. i tried to be as safe as possible. most guys said they have about 30 splices, including lachute, but it seems like i have more than that. i dunno. . .

im gonna need some big help when it comes time to do the fuel pump controller. the mechanic at Lachute tried to explain it to me, but his english was rather poor and i couldnt understand a damn thing.

Dude the fuel-pump controller is fairly easy. I installed mine up by my ECU on a 12Ē whip as it only required one new wire to be ran part way back as opposed to mounting it in the rear where two new wires must be ran. Also, if you donít have the plug/wiring, donít worry. I cut the plastic surround off of my unit then soldered the wires directly with heat-shrink. You can also try using spade-connectors but I found it to be too tight of a fit which risks shorting between terminals. Much saver to solder individually if you donít have a plug:

yea, i got to look at xcntrk75's car in person, and his wiring is the best i've seen. it looks like the car came with the motor stock. it is pretty gangster if you ask me.
