a big factor to consider is that the IAT is not in the manifold as expected by this rom, but in the maf pipe.
since the IC doesn't have sufficient ambient airflow during LC or rotational idle the core temps skyrocket as soon as the turbo starts to wake up. trust me on this one.. you have two competing effects going on: the higher charge air temp is less dense, the ecu does not "know" this and thus afr swings rich. a "safe" thing. however, the higher charge temps mean the mixture is that much closer to detonation. NOT a safe thing. whether or not this results in a bad day is unknowable until it happens. just keep in mind that this is decidedly NOT the case with the IAT (really MAT) sensor in the manifold where it belongs (and this ecu code EXPECTS). an old thread on relocating IAT/MAT: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1088149 |

we're running blow through or GM temp sensors on all the cars running this map. it's the right way to do it.

I'm curios to see how your gm iat is scaled dom.
I'm within 2-3* of ambient almost all the time.... |

nice. Mine isn't very precise right now. It's changed a bit from stock to get the temps much closer to actual (a couple degrees), but on the far ends of the scale, I haven't verified the scaling.

It might be that easy for you if you have a wrx RA with the V7 JDM ecu. It didn't work with the usdm ecu.

Fair enough... Im looking at the information both here and romraider and this is some pretty in depth stuff. It makes me appreciate the engineers much more now (since im just a dumb driver 'hold the wheel monkey, wear your suit monkey, remember to smile monkey, dont crease the car again monkey!!').
I am trying to learn this stuff before i do something that i dont have diappers for! To operate the car under these controls with your advice is more that doable but the trick is seems is to get it fine tuned correctly. I have compared the information to what i have based on my Clark Turner SD map (I also have UTEC so i may just move the switch to "0" and load this as the skeleton with no help from the UTEC) and the values are not that far removed besides ignition timing. If you guys have any more advice I would appreciated it. For those who dont understand how expensive running antilag is i have some pics from a friend working for prodrive supported a UAE/Saudi Championship Gp.N car. If I can find them when i get home I will post them tonight or tomorrow.... its $$$$$$$ ^ compared to the evo world that i came from |

More definitions will probably be released in the near future.
Mostly for Idle Timing - but a few others This will probably apply for all 16bit ecu's as well. -Jerod |

Cool...and just for another bit of additional info, I'm running a spec c 207 ecu, and still get the blank cel, so its not just the usdm versions.

Do you have ecu exploder? If so can you do a ram dump and email it to me? [email protected] If you don't know how: Tools: ecuquery Do everything it says, make sure you store it to somewhere that is easily found (it likes to not store it where you want it to) I'm curious if anything is stored there. I'm almost sure this has to be a hardware issue now but honestly should be able to be disabled one way or another. -Jerod |

My guess is that it's used for an indication of something and not actually a fault.

A little update (also can be read on RR forums):
CEL fix will be tested in the morning Found what MIGHT <---- VERY IMPORTANT be a knock sensitivity table, further testing is needed to prove/disprove this. Misfire Threshold was found in the 16bit roms. Defs will be updated in the next week or so (maybe sooner, maybe later) with a ton of new stuff to play with, even for the MAF guys. - Note to you guys running this rom. WHEN there is a OCV code present FLKC/IAM ARE NOT ACTIVE. FBKC is 100% active and working. Basically you will never leave FBKC mode, or conditions are not fully met to enter rough and then fine correction mode. The CEL fix SHOULD fix this 100%, again I will be testing it tom. IF there is ANYTHING else people think may exist or would like to exist (within reason) please feel free to throw it out there. Even for the MAF based roms. Once we get through this CEL/NPS (done and verified) stuff - I'm going to begin work on some of the unknown but usefull portions of the SD rom and carry over to MAF based roms (as much as I can) Future plans as of right now: Completely define ALL fueling compensations Per Gear timing implemented Possible Per Gear IPW Compensation My favorite Simple switching via Flash Block "switch" for 100% E85/93 octane switching. This will include 2 separate Injector scalars - timing tables - OL fueling tables. More or less you will be able to flip a switch and have PROPER fueling/PROPER timing/Proper injector scalar for both fuels. Eventually included in this will be the switching of AL/LC by the A/C button. -Jerod |

Hey Jerod, How about looking into injector on time for throttle release or anything to do with fueling when throttle is lifted. I have done many logs and there has to be some sort of table for this . Its happens with the sd rom and the maf rom 16 bit. When throttle is lifted somewhat "It doesnt have to be lifted all the way" the afr will swing rich for a second at like 11.0 and then go back to stoich. If I lift all the way it will go to 11.0 and then fuel will cut and wideband will go to 20. Also if im at 100% throttle and lift it will cut fuel without going rich first. It def has something to do with throttle input. Merchgod said he thought he found a table of the sort but nothing ever came from it. |
