^This^ I have a 06 STI that went from a stock DD, and is now making 380hp on pump gas and 450hp on E85. I found out real quick that I didn't wanna use it for a DD. I still have the STI but have a 05 Chrysler Sebring 4cyl for my DD. If your gonna go bigger, you might not want to go that much bigger. My .02

Lists of current mods, Budget, and goals would help us narrow it down....

What is your goal for the car? Autocross? Track days? Show?

Then I say track/autocross it first. Get out to some HPDE's and other means of legal and sanctioned seat time. Get an instructor to sit with you, and learn to drive the car. You might find your current mods are more than enough to make you go fast around the track, and that the nut behind the wheel is what needs tightened.

Then suspension.

Then go fast goodies.

Go stage 2 (Cat back/Tune) and enjoy the car man... Thats the time i most enjoyed my 07 STI and it was plenty fast for my auto x / ice racing

The second you head down the 50lb+ turbo route you are headed into a money pit.

Default money pit

Depends what your passion is.....

I started with a brand new 06 WRX Limited...

added SPT Intake and exhaust and a month later motor and trans mounts.

Then got a tune and a short throw shifter.

I am now 6 speed, built motor, Tomei 7960 turbo, coilovers, wheels, tires, etc, etc, etc.

The list of mods is extensive and have tried several exhausts, three turbos, and two transmissions. I am currently breaking in my built motor. I have spent a lot of hard earned money on my car, but it's my passion. I have friends who don't understand the idea of improving a stock vehicle and am constantly reminded that I am wasting my time.

Good luck with the adventure and make sure you consult the right shop/tuner with your goals and ideas.

Don't listen to these guys. The bov actually gives you
At least 27.6 more horsepower.
Also your motor will blow up if you don't have one, so keep a spare in the trunk.

Besides.... chicks dig it.
Just make sure you get the loudest one you can find,
Make sure it goes " tweeeeeee" and not "pshhhhh"
The ones that go "pshhhhh" are for girls.
Real men go "tweeeeee!!!!!"
