Picked the Perrin because I knew I was going to run their GT30r kit. Figured things should fit/funtion better when they're of the same brand. Results from a header comparo done a while back netted good findings too among others tested. It is equal length making it quieter than unequal length headers. Comes from a reputable company so if I had any problems or defects with it I knew there would be some to talk to. At my time of purchase it was either APS or Perrin but since I could have a quality header AND have it ceramic coated for less than the purchasing price of APS I went with the latter. So far I still like it over my other headers (Cusco, Invidia one piece with Uppipe). Cusco was nice but the heat shield it included, although with good intentions, kept breaking stressed by the heat and would make clanging noises. Invidia/uppipe one-piece header had terrible fitment and would constantly hit the crossmember. Only fix was to get upgraded engine mounts to reduce engine from shifting on turns. Gripes of the Perrin would be no Egt bung, which I've just added. Another is heat retention, which is a problem for almost all aftermarket headers. I ceramic coated the headers when I first bought it and recently thermal wrapped them since I had to do the Egt bung. Inside the header wasn't as smooth as I wouldve liked. Fitment is still better than the others I've owned, even with its slip joints. I've put them on and taken them off about 4 times and its always just slipped into where its supposed to be so no complaints there. These were some minor things but nothing to deter me from liking the Perrin. No regrets here, just my two cents.
Okay so I was bored and on my Blackberry sorry for the rant. |

i would say get whichever is cheaper.. the hp differences between the two are probably negligible.. so in other words.. gt spec.

on fit and finish, having owned one and seen both, I would go with the GT spec. Welds and pipe inner surfaces are excellent. Have yet to personally test hp difference between them but the Perrin is a proven product imho.

I don't think there are many people running the GT spec EL header here. I know that P&L had a customer that was running one with a 35R. Maybe contact them.
In regards to the Tomei header, don't think that's equal lenght. Could be wrong, but when I looked at the design, it looked to be unequal length. Personally, I want to try out the GT spec EL header myself. GT Spec had great products and I have never heard any out of the ordinary complaints about thier products either. |

I know a number of guys running GT-Spec headers but only the UEL ones. They have had no issues with them, so I say get the one you are comfortable with and fit in your budget. |

GTSpec is probably better quality and you get an uppipe. Their uppipe is nice, but if you ever go rotated you'll have a problem.
Perrin will spool faster but give up a little power at the top. You can use any uppipe that fits the stock header. FWIW I love my Perrin header on my Stage 2+ STi. Also, Maddad will be offering an EL header + up in the next month similar to the GT Spec equal length but with smaller primaries and a smaller uppipe. |

Cool. Thanks for the inputs. I'll go with Perrin's then.

I have the Perrin ELH installed on my LGT motor, ceramic coated and whatnot, fit is good and sounds great
