Default Have a 500whp sti? Want free lunch?

Hey guys! I am gettin ready to do a big setup on my car ounce the motor build is done. I am trying to decide between a 30r, 35r,37r, 60-1, or FP RED! IF you or a good friend would be willing to meet me somewhere within a 100miles of me then I would be more than happy to treat you to some free lunch and talk cars for a while as long as you would take me for a spin. I am dead serious about this and I really want to go for a ride in one of these setups before I buy one.
I live here in joplin MO, about 45 mins from Tulsa OK, and about 45 mins from Springfeild MO. Please, if you arnt to far away and wouldnt mind talking to a car guy for a while I would really enjoy the ride to help me better decide my new setup.
The import seen around here is pretty scarce so this would a huge deal for me. I just dont want to buy my new setup, drive 5 hours to get it tuned, and then end up hating the lag or performance. Thanks again. I might even be able to help with gas money. Please consider guys. pm me

Gee, good thinking.....why didnt I think of that? The area I am at is in the most southern location and is often left out. I have tried to get meets together but there just doesnt seem to be enough subaru lovers in the area to meet up. I have been trying to get a ride in one of these setups for a while now in my swsioc group but there doesnt seem to be any or they just are not interested.
This surprises me that I am actually having trouble finding someone willing to give a ride in a car that they have spent a lot of time building and are proud of. I went 5hours out of my way one weekend just to meet a guy who was wanting to go for a ride in a 20g 2.0 wrx. We had a good time and I never really thought it would be this hard to find somebody that might do the same.
Please, if your not interested then that is okay but stay of the thread. Thanks

Well, I was in Cedar Rapids, IA in Feb/March....that was about 1800 miles

So, I'd guess about 2000+?

GT35r EWG

^^

why are you listing you have a 35r in your info? ewg too huh? point me in the direction of all the 35r's with iwg's....

your talking about a few rotated kits and a stock location turbo...

you dont need to take a ride in the car, talk to who is going to tune the car, tell them your plans, your mods, or ask for parts advice....

30r-good daily driven rotated turbo with good spool and high 300's to low 400's hp on pump with a good tune. not a big stress on the motor/driveline....on a built motor it would be pretty fun....11-12 second turbo

35r- step up in hp from the 30r, a little slower spool sacrifice to gain on the top end, little more of a strain on the motor/driveline...meth injection would be a good idea.....built motor may get you good numbers and 10-11 second turbo

37r- again, sacrificing spool for top end, your looking at consistent 10's with this turbo.....a little on the large side but not huge

60-1....not too many people running them, theres a reason for that, they arent that great...

fpred-very popular, saves the hassle of getting into the rotated kit if you already invested in TBE/downpipes for a stock location, intake, fmic piping etc...this turbo makes great power and seen it do well on built motors....look for performance to be in the 35r area

if your thinking of a 30r, an fpgreen should also be among your decisions....if you want to stay stock location turbo and your thinking you want some quick spool and good power this would be a good option for you! add some meth and youve got some great TQ numbers as well!

hope i helped...

GOod info......Im sure you helped somebody here but Im aware of all of those turbos and their options and actions already. Look im not a newbie on all this info, I have heard it all before and know plenty about many many turbos and setups. There is just no substitution for how a setup physically feels.
Ron from power axis is my "tuner" as you mentioned and he is very good at what he does. We are gathering the parts for my full engine build as we speak and will start very soon. Pauter rods, cosworth pistons, valve springs, 272cams, crank, sleeved, the whole deal. Im not spending all that money to hold all this power for a freaking FP Green.
My options are narrowed down to either a Gt35r .82 rotated with meth.....or maybe a Gt37r. I have also recently considered the APS TSR70 twin scroll setup!!!
If nobody wants to take me for a spin thats okay....really....Il have a kickass setup soon regardless. Just thought I might see if I can feel the lag differnces in person instead of looking at dyno sheets all day.

I've never heard it called "power axis" before.

Always heard "Axis Power Racing"

i think you might find that these 500 plus whp setups are few and far between... You may have to do a good bit of travelling to find one.

There are many people who post about them on here all the time, but you have to remember that those posted here are from all over really...

I think you're on the right path though... its always nice to test things out before you put the cash down.

^Thanks for the encouragement. I never really thought about how rare it is to find a 500+whp sti. Cant wait to be one of them.
