Default Prosport Electric Boost Gauge

I love the way the prosport gauges looks for the price.

It's a great gauge, but I had 3 boost senders fail on me.

Anyone else have this issue?

As a review:

Looks: 9/10
Price: 10/10
Longevity: 4/10
Reliability: 9/10 (Never > 1PSI off from data log)

I have EVO gauge - how long did your sender last?

Blew about 1/year. When it works, it's awesome.

I had one that was always 5 psi off, not sure if it was the gauge or the sender (didn't realize till I got a Tactrix cable and learned to log). Only had it on the car about 6 mths. Went back to an Autometer mechanical till I can find a quality peak hold electric gauge.

This was my experience with both the boost and oil pressure. They look neat and are accurate enough but the sensors fail. Then all you get is a needle waving at you

Not important in regards to the gauge as they are all the same if you use it on a 02 WRX or a turbo charged 1932 Ford Model A.

Where are you guys mounting the sender unit? Engine bay? I wonder if mounting them under the dash (inside the cabin) would result in more reliability. I was looking at another brand and the seller was upfront in telling me that even though the sender unit could be mounted in the engine bay so that only the electrical wires had to be run back into the car (and no boost/vacuum line), the sender was not waterproof and he recommended mounting under the dash.

I've got a Prosport Halo gauge on the way. I think I'll mount the sender under the dash...

For boost or oil? Mounting the oil pressure sensor in the cabin sounds like a terrible idea

2004, but like Psychoreo stated, doesn't matter.

I'm not the only one

Mounting under your dash will require more tubing from your boost hose to your sender potentially causing bad readings. Might as well at that point just get a mechanical boost gauge.

^^^ He's right, you want the sender as close as possible to the boost source as you can get it so it can be accurate. So if they (Prosport should know this) know, why don't they have a better sender? One thats waterproof and can withstand high temps and pressure!?!? End rant!

Yeah, I mounted the sender right inside the firewall so I could have as short a tube as possible and have it out of the engine bay...

About a year, maybe 18 months later, the gauge failed...
I thought it was the sender, so I bought another. Didn't solve the problem.

Put my Auto Meter mechanical gauge back in. It worked for 7 years before I installed the Prosport and about a year after I ripped out the Prosport.

Prosports are junk, no doubt about it. I love the look, but the quality issues are a big problem. My oil sender separated at the seam and leaked oil everywhere in like 6 months. The boost gauge lasted less than 18 months. They're gone.

Default Glowshift?

Has anyone tried any of Glowshift's products?
They're cheap, but maybe there's a reason.

As I recall, some of the Glowshift and Prosport are identical except for the brand logo. I think they're made at the same place, but get different stickers.
