Default help with the starter on an ej20g swap

ok...so i'm not understanding why this darn starter won't kick over. the battery is full, the starter is grounded...all the connections are clean and secure. but when i turn the key all i get is the click from under the dash board. i'm not understanding. i've plugged the jdm ecu onto the back of the starter with that little pin, no go, unplugged it, no go, plugged in whatever was supposed to be there stock and it still won't kick over? if you've done this swap please help and i hope you can understand what i'm talking about...i'm a little frustrated. thanks in advance.

Does the engine turn freely if you use a socket and rachet?

Check that the engine spins freely as Ver III has said. If it does spin, then your next step is to pull the starter and have it tested. You can just take it to Autozone or something. If it doesn't test out properly I have an extra starter, hehe. If it does test ok then your wiring is suspect and start tracing wires.
